III. Procedure (Lesson Development)

A. Preparation

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

“Good morning Class!” “Good morning Ma’am!”

“Let us pray first. Anyone who wants to (One student will lead the prayer)
lead the prayer?”

“Ms. Lubiano, do we have absentees (Ms. Lubiano will stand and tell who are
today?” the absentee)

B. Motivation

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

“I will be choosing 5 students from the (5 Students will stand up and go in front of
class. Those who will be called should go the class to receive their prizes)
here in front for a draw.”

“Okay. I have here 3 folded papers that (Students will pick 1 piece of folded paper,
contain numbers 1 to 3. Once draw, just check what number they got, go back to
keep those papers during our lesson. After their seat and keep it during discussion.)
the video presentation, there’s a
corresponding question to that number
that needs correct answers. I f the answer
is right, definitely you will receive a prize.”
C. Lesson Proper

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

“Today our topic is all about the Concepts (Students raise their hands)
of Guidance and its relationship to
education. We will also discuss about
Guiding Principles, Historical and
Philosophical Perspective of Guidance and
Pioneers of Counseling. When you hear
the word Guidance, what comes in your
mind?”

(Pick 3 students from the class) “Got it Ma’am”

“Thank you for sharing your ideas, all of

the answers are correct. There always
have been and will continue to be people
with an occasional need for help of older
or more experienced associates in
meeting problems, nor is difficult to find
someone who is more than willing to
respond to requests for such assistance.
Too often informal advice given without a
clear understanding of the problem
involved is likely to be not only ineffectual
but harmful and misleading.
So to have a better understanding about
guidance and its concepts, I want you to
watch this video about our lesson today
and I also want you to jot down important
facts because later on we will have our
examination.”

(Students will watch the video presentation

(Play Video presentation) silently and they will take note of important
(Distribute Hand-outs to students) facts about the topic)
“Alright, thank you for watching. I hope you
fully understand and learn something
about Guidance and Counseling. Now, (Student 1 will stand up and expected to
may we call all those folks who have the provide correct answer)
folded paper for our activity? It’s just easy
class don’t worry. As I’ve mentioned
earlier, those number has corresponding
questions and it’s just about the video we (Student 1 will answer)
watched. So who got the 1st number? “According to Brewer, guidance is a
process through with an individual is able
“Based on the video, what is guidance to solve their problems and pursue a path
according to Brewer?” suited to their abilities and aspirations.”

(Student 2 will answer)

“Definitely Ma’am! One of the Aims of

give me one Aims of Guidance Program?” toward better teaching”
“Thank you Ma’am!”

“Yes Very Good! In addition to that, Hill

advocated and worked for a diversified
curriculum complemented by Vocational
Guidance. Thank you student number 3,
here’s your prize. Let’s give them all a big
round of applause!”
D. Generalization

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

“I know you’ve learned a lot from today’s (Students will listen to the teacher)
discussion, so to sum it up, Guidance is a
form of assistance given to people in many
ways. Parents, assist their children to grow
and develop. Teachers assist their
students to learn in order to cope with the
needs of the times. Other people,
irrespective of professions, also give
assistance to helpless people. Friends
often help one another through troubled
times. Guidance can be given to anybody,
anytime and anywhere to people who are
in need of such assistance.
