Literature review:

The present study examines the employee satisfaction among teaching and non teaching
employees of govt and private colleges. Though the nos of studies have been conducted in the
field of academics but few have been undertaken to compare the employee satiafaction among
the teaching and non teaching employess of private and government colleges.Daisy Ofo Suhene
Kwenin, Stephin Muathe and Robert nzulwa in 2013 examined on the influence of employee
rewards and human resources policies in Vodafone Ghana limited,study revelaed that the job
satisfaction and favourable human resources policies have a positive link with retention of the
employees.

Marwin t Al.Aoubi 2012 examined in the shape of the relationship between salary and job
satisfaction, the study shows that ,job satisfaction is required for long term management which
enrich all job aspects as weel as the psycho social variables that enhance work life balance and
salary is not the single and prime factor that increases the job satisfaction level in the
organization.

Ekta sinha (2013) conduct a research on employee satisfaction with special reference to
KRIBCHO,Surat, the study revealed that with respect to experience the satisfaction level of
employees differ significantly regarding salary, job rotation policy plays a important role in
employee satisfaction.

Bulent aydin,adnan ceylan 2008 examined in the employee satisfacyion in metalworking


manufacturing,study revelaed that employees are loyal and productive when they are satisfied.

M.M. Nurul Kabir 2011 conduct a research on job satisfaction on pharmaceutical sector ,and
the study revelaed that a good work environment and good work conditions increase employee
job satisfaction,and employees will try to give the best which can increase the employyes work
performance.

Tilak Raaj 2013 conduct a research on job satisfaction among teachers of private and
government school,the study revealed that government school teachers are more satisfied then
the private school teachers ,this is due to the flexibility of jobs ,job security, wages and
independence enjoyed by government school teachers. government school teachers shows low
satisfaction level regarding the factor opportunity for career and development.

A.Adeniji 2014 conduct a research on relationship between work satisfaction and faculty
performance in the Nigerian private universities, the study reveled that job dissatisfaction has
the primary resons for the high turnover of academic and other sector ,the salary packages,
organizational policies, clear lines of communication have a positive effect on faculty
commitment in the academic activities.
Shri. Harold Monis and T.N Shreedhan conduct a research on employee satisfaction with career
development practices and the study reveled that employee development increased the
employee productivity and decreased absenteeism turnover.

Shoaib ,noor and basher 2009 recognize that employee rewards are very important since thay
have lasting impression on the employee and continue to susyain the employees.

Memon et al 2010 conducted a study on human resources policies and the study reveals that
appropriate policies leads to the employee retention and stimulate employee satisfaction and
performances.

Kristen Gregory tells the importance of employee satisfaction employye satisfaction is essential
to the success of any business,a high rate of employee satisfaction leads to the lower turnover
rate of the organization.

Adeyinka tella in 2007 conduct a study on work motivation,job satisfaction in oyo state ,Nigeria
and the study reveled that correlation exits between perceived motivation ,job satisfaction and
commitment.

R.Anitha 2011 studies the job satisfaction of paper mill employyes with special reference to
udumalpet .satisfaction level of the employees was measured on the basis of emplolees of
working condition,rewards,welafe measurement and job security.

Brikend aziri 2011 studies job satisfaction and found that job satisfaction is under influence of a
series of factors such a work, salary, advancement oppurtunities, management and
workgroups,it is one of the major challenges for present organization.

Hunter and tietyen said that employees are more loyal and satisfied when they are satisfied
and these satisfied employees affect the customer satisfaction as well as organizational
productivity.

Perez in 2008 research revealed that job satisfaction is the pleasurable emotional state
resulting from the appraisal of one job achieving of one’s job values.

Kate kenned and Julie Malveaux 2010 in their research revealed that employers should build a
bridge between employees and senior management by training their line managers regularly
and involving them in the strategy meeting and activities .this leads the the job satisfaction of
the employees, good communication leads to the proper employee satisfaction, in the same
way career advancement was a high priority for employees in middle management, than for
those in non management positions. career growth is one of the major factor for the employee
satisfaction for those who are in the position of managers.

Mehta (2012) investigated on job satisfaction among teachers to know whether the perception of
job satisfaction among teachers was affected by the type of organization (private vs. Govt.) and the
gender (male vs. female).Result showed that there would be significant difference in the level of job
satisfaction of Govt. and private school teachers.

Kumar & Bhatia (2011) mentioned that the level of job satisfaction and attitude of the teachers
towards teaching is least affected by the gender, the marital status, minimum qualification and
income group of physical Education teachers to compare the job satisfaction among Physical
Education teachers and their attitude towards teaching.

Jimmy Peltifier And Andy in 2009 investigated in the relationship between employee satisfaction
and hospital patient experiences and the study revealed that Many health care administrators are
increasingly showing concern for delivering high quality care in which both the customer (patients)
and providers (employees) are satisfied while maintaining a strong financial environment (Love et
al., 2008).

Berry 1998 defined job satisfaction as the reaction of the individual to the working
environment.

Dash et al. (2008) report that the factors perceived as motivating by the ITES-BPO employees,
Among others, include the factors like the chances of promotion and the opportunities for
professional growth.

Adeniji and Salau 2014 investigated a study on a modeling relationship between w.s and f.p IN
university, study shows that job dissatisfaction is the primary reason for the increased rates of
absenteeism and strikes and higher turnover rate of the employees.

All these studies makes one things certain that the employee satisfaction leads to the high
productivity, lower employer turnover rate and makes customer /student satisfied in which the
business organization leads to the success and achieve profit in shorter duration time. Keeping
these views in mind, the present study titled “Employee Satisfaction level among teaching and
non teaching staff of the private and government organization in Jhunjhunu District: A
comparative Study
