I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
Knowledge
o Define cheerdance.
Understand
o Describe the nature, movements and health benefits of dancing.

o Appreciate the value of dancing for the improvement and maintenance of


students’ health and fitness; and
Do
o Perform a cheerdance routine, chant/yell, and beat through improvisation.

And to unlock our lesson, you are going to do


a task called “DECODE THE CODE”. Kindly (The students will read the mechanics.)

 Go to your respective group.


 Decode the letters to unlock the
topic using the number codes.
 After decoding, as a group do 5
jumping jacks and clap (1 2, 1 2 3, 1
2 3 4, and shout the correct answer.)
 The group who will first to finish
will receive 2 points.

Now I want to introduce to you a friend of


mine. Her name is Cherry. Cherry the bench
cheerer. She wanted to be a cheerleader but
the problem is she’s not familiar with the basic
movements of cheerdance. Would you help
her familiarize the basic movements of
cheerdance? Yes ma’am.

With the same group, I have here three sets of


envelope which contain pictures. All you have
to do is to practice what is in the picture with
the time allotted. After five minutes you will
execute what is in the picture. Starting with
Set A, Set B, and Set C. Your time starts now. (The students will practice.)
Your time’s up! Are you ready? (The students will shout: Hoo Haa! Yes we
are.)
(The basic movements are: basic stance, t-
motion, half- t, tabletop, touchdown, low (Set A will execute.)

IV. EVALUATION

To fulfill my friend’s dream to become a


cheerleader. You will become a team and
perform a cheerdance routine. With the same
group, Blue team will create a cheerdance
routine, Red team will create a yell/cheer, and
Yellow team will create a beat using
improvised instruments. Choose your own
theme. Your raw scores in three categories
will be added and divided into three and serves
as your final score as a team. I will give you
10 minutes to practice. But before that, I will
let you watch a short video about cheerdance
for you to have an idea of what to do.
