Folk Dance Study


Folk dances are a reflection of a country’s culture and tradition. In the Philippines, Filipinos dance during
gatherings or celebrations to reflect on their everyday lives or to commemorate events from the past and are
passed down through many generations.

What do you know about Filipino folk dances?


Directions:
1. Watch any folk dance video, choose one of the following dances below:
a. Singkil
b. Pandagooasiwas
c. Tinikling
2. Observe the movements of the dance.
3. Describe the dance by listing down the observations using the table below. Write down the observations
about the movements on the first column of the table.
4. Research about the chosen dance. Relate the observations to the interpretation of the dance by writing a
paragraph on the second column of the table.
