What are the things you hope to achieve from this exposure? Were you able to achieve them?

- The things that I hope to achieve from this CHN exposure is to determine client's health status such as taking
of vital signs which include measurement of temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure since
they provide critical information needed to make life-saving decisions. Other thing is to determine client's
health threat, health deficit and the foreseeable crisis. Perhaps the most important thing is to offer health
education about maintaining their health so that they can decrease the occurrence of diseases and deaths.
Due to the established trust and cooperation during the nurse-client interaction, I was able to achieve these
things.

Why do you consider these things to be important?

- I consider these things to be important because these could be an intervention in promoting health and
preventing diseases. Common about the people in the community is the low income which is one of the factors
why people in the community are reluctant to seek medical care. Through health education, a student nurse
can positively influence the health behavior of individuals to improve and maintain health, prevent from
acquiring diseases and reduce risky behavior by making healthy lifestyle choices which could help individual
achieve the optimum level of functioning.

What do you think are some of the factors that can bring about the success or failure of an activity?

- I think one of the factors that could contribute to the success of the CHN is the nurse-client interaction which
aims to enhance the well-being of the client and can only be possible if the nurse was able to establish trust
and cooperation from the client. Since the success of the activity depends on the involvement made by the
nurse and the client, perhaps the factor that could bring about the failure of the CHN exposure is the absence
of the client or the nurse. Since there are no nurse-client interaction, the expected objectives were not carried
out by the client because the activities set by the nurse was unperformed leading to the goal of the nurse-
client interaction to be unmet.

How will you continue to use the skills and knowledge gained from all the activities done in CHN?

- I will continue to use the skills and knowledge gained from all the activities done in the CHN by continuing
what I have started during the CHN exposure to my family members. This is for the purpose of applying what I
learned during the CHN experience in order to improve myself as a student nurse and most importantly to
promote health and prevent diseases to achieve wellness

How can you relate the gospel reading to your experience in the community exposure and to clients in the
community?

- The gospel reading (Numbers 11) details the anger that is felt by the Lord toward his people. The people had
become frustrated with the hardship they experienced and began to complain. The Lord heard their complains
and was angered greatly. I could relate the gospel reading to my experience in the community exposure with
the clients in the community in which they also become frustrated with the obstacles they are dealing with
their health. Not only for the clients in the community but also for me. I realized that we keep complaining and
blaming God for letting us suffer not knowing the fact that we are also to be blamed for it is our action that we
did that lead us to the consequences.

How can you apply this CHN experience in your own life?

- I can apply this CHN experience in my own life by also applying what I desire to teach my client to myself and
my family which is to improve health and prevent disease by making healthy lifestyle choices. I think that for
student nurses to be effective, one should also be healthy, safe and well themselves to help them lead people
in achieving healthy lives.
