Portable CW Carrier RF Signal Generators

FEATURES:

 Four Standard return path signal generator models; oth-

er configurations available upon request.
 Frequencies of HG Series units designed for North
America and International frequencies.
 Frequencies and Output Levels of SCG and DFG units are
typically 45 or 50dBmV.
 Generators can operate from a wall plug-in AC power
adapter or from the built-in NiCad rechargeable batter-
ies, optional standard alkaline batteries can also be used.
 Output frequencies of the DCG-F1/F2 are eacg con-
trolled by an independent switch.

Description and Application:

These portable CW Carrier RF Signal Generators provide a flat-output signal source, and are crystal controlled for
North American and International Frequency applications. The product line includes harmonic units as well as single
and dual carrier models. The units are inexpensive and portable test equipment devices which provide a cost -
effective solution for many return path applications, and other services operating within the frequency range of
5-65MHz. Customized single and dual carrier generators are designed per customer requirements in frequency
(MHz) and Output Level (dBmV).
The units are designed within durable metal housings which can withstand rough field handling. A solid metal shield
is placed around the on/off switch to prevent any physical damage. An “out of calibration” alarm LED indicator
which doubles as a low battery indicator is included on all models.
While providing a useful tool for several applications, the most popular are proofing a subscriber drop prior to the
installation of a cable modem, and return path activation and signal balancing. In addition, when used in conjunction
with a signal level meter, these generators have also been proven effective in measuring the insertion loss of
cables, amplifiers, splitters, and taps.
