PROJECT: HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION OF NAVOTAS NATIONAL SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL I. TITLE : “ Kasaysayan: Tuklasin, Mahalin, Palaganapin”
II. DESCRIPTION :
The Buwan ng Kasaysayan theme for 2018 is "Kasaysayan: Tuklasin, Mahalin,
Palaganapin". According to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), it focuses on discovering, loving, and promulgating the History of the Philippines by living it up through different school activities and mediums by going back to what marked the historical dates of historical events so that the students will learn to love and be proud of the History that brought us now today.
III. RATIONALE :
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) released the official theme of Buwan ng Kasaysayan, “Kasaysayan: Tuklasin, Mahalin, Palaganapin”. This makes the Buwan ng Kasaysayan to have three acts for this month aims only one thing—to live up again the forgotten history of the Philippines. Proclamation No. 339 by former Pres. Benigno Aquino III declared that the month of August of every year as history month, thereby transferring the observance of history week from 15 to 21 September to the month of August. whereas, a week of observance is not enough to undertake various activities given the richness and diversity of our nation’s history. The campus is the source of knowledge of Filipino youth. This initiates NNSHS to celebrate Buwan ng Kasaysayan to promote and wake the sleeping heart of the students for their love of country and for the important people who took part by making that remarkable history—our heroes.
THE SITUATION
Some students don’t pay much attention to history. They don’t commemorate unpopular national heroes due to their lack of interest on the history of the Philippines. They look up to things on the internet that are mostly not related to what happened remarkably ages ago. This leads to dying of the love for the country . THE SOLUTION
Through the celebration of Buwan ng Kasaysayan, the students will gain
consciousness, and appreciation to what happened in the Philippines by implementing programs and activities that will boost their understanding about their History. The programs and activities for the Buwan ng Kasaysayan also aims to make students love their own; love the Philippines more than any country, patronize Filipino products more than any other country’s products, and appreciate the heroic act of our heroes that freed us from the slavery and chains of the colony and oppression of foreign invaders.
IV. OBJECTIVES : General Objective: To celebrate the 2018 Buwan ng Kasaysayan in Navotas National Science High School.
Specific Objectives: 1. The “Baybayin: Alpabeto ng Nakaraan, Letra ng Kinabukasan” will
test the ability of the students to make a simple slogan about the theme of the Buwan ng Kasaysayan.
2. The “Tankayan: Tagisan ng Kakayahan” will evaluate the memory
of the students about Philippine history and many contemporary issues.
3. The “Buhay na Museo: Parte ng Kasaysayan, Inaalala ng
Kasulukuyan” will challenge the imagination of the students to portray a scene in the past, a part of our history.
