Turn and Pull the Feather Lever

The following functions occur in sequence:
1. The fuel solenoid value (HP Cocks) is mechanically closed.
2. The LP Cocks close electrically via the essential bus.
3. The propeller feather valve is moved to the feather position.
4. The starter circuits are inhibited in the start mode.

Revision 3 – July 29, 2008 5

FlightSafety International BAe Jetstream 3200
Limitations and Operational Information

Engine fire warning indication. Specifically, temperature greater than 300C

FIRE has been sensed in the respective engine nacelle.

Main cabin door unsafe. In flight, the door must be assumed unsafe. On the
DOOR ground, possible causes are; door unsafe, malfunctioning micro-switch or
operator error.

Inverter failure indication. Specifically, an inverter has failed or is not

INV powered. Red INV caption will be accompanied by “attention getter” lights,
associated abnormal captions and instrument failure indications.

Aft baggage compartment smoke/fire warning indication. Specifically, the

SMOKE
smoke detector has sensed smoke-like particulate matter.

OIL Low oil pressure warning indication. The oil pressure is below 50 psi.

In U.S.-registered aircraft, this caption is disabled and should never

POD
illuminate because no smoke detector is installed. Thus, illumination of this
SMOKE
caption can only be a false indication. Detectors are installed and operative
in Canadian-registered aircraft.

Loss of voltage indication at the DC Essential or DC Main bus. Specifically,

BUS FAIL
one (or both) under voltage sensors has sensed less than 25 volts.

CABIN Loss of cabin pressurization warning. Specifically, the cabin altitude has
exceeded 10,000’ MSL.

Revision 3 – July 29, 2008 6

FlightSafety International BAe Jetstream 3200
Limitations and Operational Information

Engine fire warning system failure. The system has sensed an internal failure
DETECT and engine fire warning is not available.

O/TEMP Greater than 90C has been sensed in the respective air conditioning system.

Inverter failure indication. Specifically, an inverter has failed or is not powered.

INV The amber INV caption will illuminate when a successful transfer of AC power
has occurred. The red INV and all other amber captions will extinguish.

BAT The respective Battery contactor is open (left, #1; right, #2).

FUEL
FILTER The fuel filter is blocked and is being bypassed.

GEN The respective generator is offline. Specifically, the generator contactor is open.

BUS TIE The Bus Tie Relay is open. The Bus Tie Reset switch on the overhead panel
OPEN should also be illuminated.

AC ESS Loss of power to the 115v AC Essential bus or a failure of the warning relay itself.

Bleed air leak warning indication. Specifically, temperature exceeding 135C has
DUCT been sensed in the respective main gear well.

Intermittent: respective windshield heat system is operating in overheat mode.

Steady illumination: respective windshield heat system has failed completely.
W/S

The respective starter/generator is engaged and acting as a starter for the

STARTER engine. Normally illuminated from 0-60% RPM during engine start.

Revision 3 – July 29, 2008 7

FlightSafety International BAe Jetstream 3200
Limitations and Operational Information

Respective SRL computer is offline. Possible causes are SRL is switched off,
SRL SRL failure or engine RPM is below 80%.

Sufficient oil pressure is available to achieve full reverse pitch of the respective
BETA propeller. Extreme caution must be used in flight because movement of the
power lever will directly change propeller blade angle.

AC MAIN Loss of power to the 115v AC Main bus or a failure of the warning relay itself.

Respective stall protection system is fully or partially inoperative. Possible

STALL causes are system switched off or in test, SSU failure or the stick pusher has
been cancelled via an illuminated red Stall Ident light.

The respective Emergency Shutoff Valve has closed automatically due to an

AIR OFF
overpressure sensed downstream of the Flow Control Valve.

HORN The gear warning horn feature associated with the power levers has been
cancelled, and the landing gear is not down & locked.

EMER LTS The overhead switch is not armed or the switch at the main cabin door is on.

FUEL Fuel pressure for the respective engine is below 20 psi.

The respective power lever is behind the Ground Idle position. The caption is
REV illuminated by a micro-switch on the power lever and illumination is caused solely
by power lever position, not propeller blade angle.

The #1 and #2 batteries are connected in series for a battery powered engine
SERIES start. The light is normally illuminated from 10% RPM + 2.5 seconds until 60%
RPM.

HYD Main hydraulic system pressure has exceeded 2300 psi.
