Definition of terms

The following terms are used in this study and are clearly define on how it were used

Traditional seating - According to Huson, traditional seating is defined as teacher-centered delivery of


instruction to classes of students who were the receivers of information.

Modern teaching - is defined as a learner-centered and activity-based teaching method which is used to
get learners fully involved (Science Education Blog).

Lecturing - an oral presentation intended to present information or teach people about a particular
subject.

Dictation - the action of saying words aloud to be typed, written down, or recorded om tape.

Drill - listening to a model, provided by a teacher,or a tape or another student,and repeating what is
heard.

Teacher led discussion - a means for students to explore ideas, develop critical thinking skills, interact
about sociteal problems and engage in group decision making and problem solving.

Uses social media - provides students with the ability to get more useful information, to connect with
learning groups that make education convinient.

Free online learning tools - means of giving autonomy to the student, improving the administration of
academic processes, encouraging collaboration, and facilitating communication between teachers and
learners.

Bring your own device - commonly used to mean permitting employees or students to bring personally
owned mobile devices to their workplace or educational institution.

Powerpoint presentation - a tool to present material in the classroom and encourage student learning.
