Design Features
Centerline Discharge To reduce piping stresses
on casing/optimal self-venting.
Renewable Case & Impeller Wear Ring
Eliminates need to replace impeller or casing.
Horizontal, centerline-supported, single
stage overhung, back pull-out process pump, Optional Inducer Enables use of smaller, higher
designed in accordance with API 610. speed pumps, can also be retrofit in field if low
NPSH encountered.
Optional Integral Stuffing Box Cooling Jacket
Permits cooling of seal when pumping hot liquids.
Replaceable Shaft Sleeves Resist wear from
packing and mechanical seal; Protects shaft from
damage.
Modular Bearing Housing System Only 4
bearing sizes required for all pumps to provide min-
imum parts stocking, maximum interchangeability.
Sealed Impeller Nut Protects shaft threads from
liquid; Eliminates liquid corrosion of shaft and/or
threads.
Fabricated Steel Base Plate With Drain Pan To
withstand distortion; Reduces misalignment prob-
lems; removes leakage before it becomes hazard.

• Pump Casing: pressure rating 40 bar / 600 psi.
• HARD METRIC design, only pipe-tapes in NPT.
• Shaft stiffness and bearings designed for 60 Hz.
• Dry-shaft design: liquid cannot corrode shaft.
• Flanges drilled according to DIN 40 bar or
ANSI 300 lbs RF.
• Max. suction pressure: 21 bar / 300 psi.
• Fan-aircooling of frame up to 250°C / 480°F
• No pedestal cooling required up to 350°C.
• Hydrostatic test: 60 bar / 900 psi at ambient
temperature 20°C / 68°F.
• Seal chamber: meets dimensions of API 682.
• Impeller: standard enclosed type, as option:
open type.
• Clockwise rotation looking from rear to
coupling-face.
• Casing: end-suction, top centerline discharge.
• Line bearing: roller bearing for
easier assembling and smooth
operation.

API-1F 3
Goulds-Vogel - CPR 40 Bar Process Pumps, API 610
• Dynamically balanced impeller according to ISO class 2.5.
Comments to API 610, 8th Edition Compliance:
• Couplings are machined to ISO class 6.3, on request balancing
• Pump casing incorporates a controlled compression elastomeric
acc. to ISO class 6.3 or 2.5.
gasket suitable for pump operating temperatures.
• Flange loading capability according to API 610, 8th edition,
• Nominal compliant with all API 682 requirements, standard seal
chapter 2.4
is non-cartridge design, cartridge only on specific request,
dimensional compliance is confirmed. • Pump furnished with rear frame-foot.
• Reduced pressure rating at high temperature service - refer to
engineering data.

Inducer (for low NPSH):

• Inducer can be fitted to all sizes resulting in approximately half of
NPSH required of conventional impeller.
• Inducer is acting like an integrated booster stage thus increasing
suction pressure level for conventional impeller.
• Broad experience of more than 20 years.
• Bearings and shaft are already designed for Inducer
applications.
• Inducer is trimmed to specified capacity range.

High Suction Pressure Application 100 bar/1450 psi: Heated Jacket Design:
• For all applications above 21 bar (300 psi) suction pressure. • Heating of casing and/or seal chamber can be provided in order
• Reinforced casing for nominal pressure: 100 bar / 1450 psi / to avoid temperature-loss, crystallization in liquid, viscosity
600 lbs. and 64 bar / 910 psi / 900 lbs. increase, etc.

• Suction pressure: max. 90 bar / 1280 psi.

• Rotor design is identical to standard
pumps but with a tapered roller bearing
as thrust bearing.
• Without back wear ring for axial
thrust balancing.

Semi-open Impeller Design: Magnetic Coupling:

• For application with liquids with entrained gas (up to 10%) and • Magnetic coupled glandless pump according to API 685 with
slurry contamination. optional auxiliary seal - non-contacting standby seal. Dry running
• Liquid-gas mixture pump performance is greatly improved by protection by means of temperature reading or pressure switch.
Inducer. Cyclone separator or magnetic filter are applied for contaminated
liquids.
• Semi-open impeller attached to an axially-adjustable bearing
frame in order to re-adjust clearance: wearplate to impeller.

4 API-1F
Goulds-Vogel - CPR 40 Bar Process Pumps, API 610
Hydrodynamic Sealing Design:
• Suitable for liquids containing solids and crystallizing liquids.
• Liquid seal is maintained by an auxiliary impeller, eliminates
need for expensive double mechanical seals, reliability, no wear,
economical operation.
• Wide selection of materials of construction, corrosion resistance,
low maintenance costs.
• Stuffing box is completely sealed during operation, no leakage
flushing required.
• Savings in investment and maintenance costs.

Sealing Flexibility:
• Available seal chamber (API 682) can accommodate any seal
design (single or dual arrangement).
• Any seal brand name can be fitted in.
• Cartridge-type design also available.
• Shaft sleeve protects shaft against seal damage.
• Also stationary flexible element design possible.
• API Plan 52, 53 are shipped with reservoir, requested auxiliaries,
control devices, fitting, all assembled and mounted onto pump
and baseplate.
• Also conventional stuffing box packing available.
• Renewable throat bushing standard.
