GUIDELINES FOR B. TECH. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING REPORT

Project Report Submission Guidelines


Text:

The text should be typed in 12 font size Times New Roman style in 1.5 spacing on one
side of A4 size page. The heading should be of Times New Roman font size 14 and Bold.
The Captions for figures should be typed at its bottom; For Example, 6th figure in
Chapter 5 should be captioned as Fig. 5.6 Title of Figure. The captions for tables should
be typed at its top; For Example, 8th table in Chapter 2 should be captioned as Table 2.8
Title of Table.

Arrangement of Contents of Project Report:

The sequence in which the project report should be arranged as follows:

1. Cover Page
2. Candidate’s Declaration
3. Supervisor’s Certificate
4. Company’s Original Certificate
5. Abstract
6. Acknowledgement
7. Contents
8. List of tables
9. List of Figures
10. List of Symbols or Abbreviations
11. Chapters I, II…
12. References
13. Appendices (if any)

Your Report should not exceed 40 pages

 Numbering of Chapters, Sections and Sub-sections:


The numbering of Chapters, division and sub-divisions should be done using
Arabic numerals only and further decimal notation should be used for numbering
the divisions and subdivisions within a chapter. For examples sub-division 5
under division 2 belonging to chapter 3 should be numbered as 3.2.5

 Page, Dimensions and Margin:


The dimensions of the final bound 3 copies report should be Standard A4 size
(297mm x210mm) paper may be used for preparing the copies. The report (at the
time of submission) should have the following page margins:
o Top and Bottom edge: 25 mm (1 inch)
o Left and right side: 32 mm (1.25 inches)

 Page Numbering:
All pages numbers should be typed at the center of page bottom. The preliminary
pages of the report (such as Title page, Acknowledgement, Table of Contents, List
of tables and figures, Notations, Abbreviations etc.) should be numbered in lower
case Roman numerals.

 Binding Specifications
Project Report submitted (3 copies) should be hard bound in Black color (Matt
finish) hard binding with golden screen printing of the cover page.

 Number of Copies to be submitted


Three copies (one student copy, one for college record and one for departmental
library) are to be submitted.

 At the time of Internal/External Viva the students must possess


the Certificate of completion of the training (Six months), Final
report of the training, Mid-term report (should be submitted
earlier), Presentation through PPT, Project details and daily dairy
with them.

At the time of Internal/External Viva, the students must possess

 Training certificates in original (Software as well as


Industrial training).
 Attendance Report counter signed by Training In charge.
 Project Assessment of 250 marks (Evaluation sheet) by
Faculty advisor/ Inspection in charge/Training Officer duly
stamped & sealed (in envelop) by the organization. (Pl
ignore if already submitted).
 CD containing Presentation of Project, Source Code of
project, Soft copy of report for both trainings (Software
as well as Industrial training).
 Daily Dairy
 Three copies of Project Reports (one student copy, one
for college/Univ. record and one for library), which should
be hard bound in Black color (Matt finish) hard rexin
binding with golden screen printing of the cover page.
Report should be strictly as per the prescribed format
(refer to College Website).

ABSTRACT

The part describes the abstract of the project. This is a general description about the
project and its working. Also, it describes the project, its need and objective. The project
working and strategy to be used is also briefly described here. Abstract should be of
around 150-200 words for Students.

Abstract should highlight the project. The objectives and findings should be correlated
and clear. The brief summary of the project with details of highlighting various chapter
should be included in the abstract. The introduction and literature review are not required
to incorporate in the abstract part of the project.

Abstract should be compacted within 01 to 02 two pages of around 250 words at


maximum. At the end of the abstract, 05 keywords may be mentioned. Keywords are the
important buzz words of the project.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Write an acknowledgement for maximum of one page. The candidate should convey his
appreciation to all whom have played a role for completion of his Project work. The
supervisor, supervisor, head of the department, faculty members, lab mates etc may be
acknowledged.

Any controversial statement or non-academic/abused sentiments are not allowed to write


in this page. At the end scholar should put his signature.
