objectives.
Quetta is the provincial capital of Baluchistan.
People from every corner of Baluchistan shift to
Quetta because better educational and health
facilities are available there.

Currently private transport is the major means of

mobility comprising of Mazda, Toyota Hiace, and
Suzuki Vans plying on various routes.

Quetta is facing diverse range of challenging

issues regarding transportation and mobility.
Quetta roads have become congested with traffic
due to poor traffic planning and management. A
lot of time is wasted during traffic blocks
especially during peak hours. Projects is within
the urban suburbs of the city.
The rehabilitation aims to facilitate the inhabitants
of Quetta City.

 In case of revised projects, The Project namely “Clearing/Aligning &

indicate objectives of the project if Reconstruction of Sariab Road” with total length
different from original PC-1 of 10.6 KM at grade improvement
(3lane+Service/Parking Lane with Junction
Improvement) was approved in PDWP held on
25-08-2017 with cost of Rs. 4.217 Billion. It was
in Federal PSDP and Rs. 1500 Million was
approved as bridge financing by Chief Minister
through summery dated 21-11-2017. The tenders
were floated and authorized by P&D on 20 Feb
2018 and the Finance Department released the
funds of Rs. 1500 million on 7th March 2018. The
work order was issued on 8th March 2018. The
matter was expedited on the direction of Chief
Minister.

The Federal Government deleted the scheme in

the PSDP of 2018-19 but the work had been
awarded in anticipation. This revised PC-1 is
being submitted covering 7.6km of road from
Irrigation Colony to Custom (3lane+Parking
Lane). The Project Road Length is curtailed from
10.6km to 7.6km considering indecision on first
3km reach. First 3km reach is in congested area
with three major intersection which required huge
land acquisition in case of widening and Junction
Improvements.

In the revised PC-1 there is saving in Bill No 1, 5,

6 and 8 because of reduction in length whereas

saving. The project will transform the entire
pattern of transportation in the surrounding areas
resulting in the uplift of economic conditions of
local community.
