The original hydraulic system has already been mounted on the EX-5 series, and is further
refined as the HIOS III on the new ZAXIS series.
The actuator can be quickly operated by efficient hydraulic control, and hydraulic pump also
precision controlled according to the load to reduce fuel consumption, enhancing cost savings.

Enhanced Boom Recirculation System

In combined operation of boom and arm, pressurized oil from boom cylinder bottom side is
delivered to boom cylinder rod side, assisted by boom weight, for boom lowering.
At the same time, pressurized oil from the pump is delivered to the arm cylinder for arm movement.
This mechanism allows 15 % increase in arm speed and speedier combined operation.
In the conventional boom lowering circuit, pressurized oil from the pump is delivered to boom
cylinder rod side.

Like the conventional ZAXIS models, the new
ZAXIS offers the ability to easily switch valves
and change set flows using the multi function
monitor.
The new ZAXIS provides ability to register easy-
to-remember names for each of the settings.
Total of 11 types for pressure and flow can be
preset.

Hour Meter for the Breaker is Displayed on the Multi Function Monitor

With the new ZAXIS, the number of hours that


the breaker has been used for can be displayed
on the multi function monitor.
In addition, since the breaker operation hours
and working ratio can be viewed, the operator
can verify the time when the hydraulic oil and
filter should be replaced. (with resettable trip
function)

Breaker Alarm Warns of Continuous Use (Opt.)


With the new ZAXIS, the operator can set an
alarm function that displays a warning icon and
sounds a warning buzzer when there is ‘more
than one minute of continuous use’ of the
breaker, which is forbidden during breaker work.
This is useful in preventing abnormal wear to the
chisel and in protecting the hydraulic
components.

Integrated Idler and Adjuster

The front idler and adjuster cylinder have been


integrated in the new ZAXIS, improving their
durability.
In addition, the bracket that had supported the
adjuster cylinder is no longer required due to this
integration, and mud no longer cloggs in this
area.

The sliding surface of the bearing part that New ZAXIS Conventional ZAXIS

In the new ZAXIS, the dust-proof indoor net has been placed at the external side of the air

Optimum Data Communication System


The Function of Global e-Service

Hitachi’s Global e-Service is a dedicated online, web based application, developed by Hitachi to
help customers monitor and operate customers' fleet of Hitachi machines in the best possible way
to increase productivity, reduce downtime, and ultimately reduce costs.

The Global e-Service website can be accessed at any time from any computer connected to the
Internet. After logging on to the website, a variety of essential information is available, ranging from
recent machine operation data and maintenance records, to information on the actual geographical
location of your machines.

Global e-Service sends its machine operation data on a daily basis via GPRS or satellite to a main
server managed by Hitachi. This data is then processed by Hitachi and made available to
customers in a clear and structured way through the Global e-Service website.

The Global e-Service website provides access to up to date and relevant machine
information including:

„ Machine operation data, e.g. hours of use, pressures, temperatures, pay-loads
„ Fuel consumption figures and fuel levels

„ Maintenance history
„ Tracking the geographical location of your machines(S)

Maintenance Information

The Global e-Service website gives customers the opportunity to store and recall all details
of maintenance services carried out in the past or planned in the future to streamline
planning of each machine’s utilisation.

Monitoring maintenance details

Selecting the tab “Maintenance” will give customers an immediate overview of the maintenance
status of a particular machine.
The complete maintenance history record of each machine is displayed in one screen. Moreover
any maintenance carried out on the machine is shown in the overview the next day.

Planning maintenance activities

To help customers efficiently plan maintenance activities to be carried out on a particular machine,
the actual operating hours of each main sub-assembly are shown as a function of the maintenance
items to be carried out in hours.
This will help customers define when maintenance activities should be performed so that
customers can reflect this information in the planning of the machine’s utilisation, parts ordering,
etc

Geographical Location

Efficiently monitoring and planning the utilisation of any of customers machines’ requires
customers to know each machine’s exact geographical location of current operation.

The latest reported location of customers' machines can be shown on the screen using different
