METHODOLOGY FOR INSTALLATION OF FIRE PROTECTION

SYSTEM

FABRICATION, ERECTION, COMMISSIONING & TESTING:-

 QAP APPROVAL.
 DESIGN APPROVAL.
 RECEIPT RAW MATERIAL INSPECTION.
 EQUIPMENT INSPECTION.
 WPS, PQR AND WELDERS QUALIFICATION TEST.
 WELDING CONSUMABLES AS PER WPS & PQR.WITH BATCH
CERTIFICATES. APPROVED MAKE—ESAB, D&H, OVERLINKOLN,
ADHOR, ADVANI, GEE (GEECON PINK, GREECON GREEN).

 FIT UP OF PIPES FOR BUTT JOINTS.

 THE CODE OF WELDING AND NDT TESTING INCLUDING


ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA OF PIPE LINE WILL BE ASME B 31.3.
 WELDING OF ROOT RUN WITH E 6010 – 2.5MM ROD.
 GRINDING OF ROOT RUN.
 D.P TEST OF ROOT RUN.
 INTER PASS CLEANING WILL BE DONE BY GRINDING.
 FILLER RUN WITH E 6013 – 3.15MM ROD.
 CHIPPING AND CLEANING OF FILLER RUN.

 FINAL RUN WITH E 6013 – 3.15MM ROD.
 CHIPPING AND CLEANING OF FINAL RUN.
 ERECTED PIPES IF THE SAME ROUTE MINIMUM DISTANCE SHOULD
BE 800MM. BETWEEN TWO PIPES.

 RADIOGRAPHY (10%). For ABOVE & UNDERGROUND


PIPING.RADIOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION OF 10% GIRTH LENGTH
SHALL BE REQUIRED. WELDS SHALL MEET THE STANDARD OF
ACCEPTIBILITY AS PER ASME B 31.3.

 IN RT, CRACK AND LACK OF FUSION WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE


IRRESPECTIVE OF AGREED ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA'S.

 IN CASE OF DEFECT FOUND IN WELD JOINTS, RT FOR PENALTY


JOINTS (2 X NOS. OF DEFECTIVE JOINTS) WILL BE MARKED. IN CASE
PENALTY JOINTS DO ALSO HAVE DEFECT, 100% RT OF REFERRED
"JOINTS LOT" WILL BE TAKEN.

 RT WILL BE MARKED WELDER WISE, TYPE WISE, SIZE WISE AND


PERIOD WISE.
 HYDROTEST FOR THE LOOPS AND FIELD JOINTS IN CASE OF U/G
PIPING.
 PIPE LINE ABOVE GROUND AND UNDERGROUND SHALL BE SUBJECT
TO HYDRO TESTS. THE HOLDING TIME SHALL BE 03 HRS.
 MINIMUM TWO PRESSURE GAUGES RANGE OF 1.5 TO 4
TIMES SHOULD BE USED.
 MECHANICAL CLEARANCE WOULD BE MUST BEFORE HYDRO TEST
OF RESPECTIVE SECTIONS.
 THE UNDER GROUND PIPE LINE SHALL BE HYDRO TEST BEFORE
BACK FILLING.
 THE ENTIRE SYSTEM PRE COMMISIONING TEST WILL DONE AT
WORKING PRESSURE AFTER COMPLETION WITH PERMANENT
GASKETS.
 THE UNDER GROUND PIPE LINE SHALL BE LAID WITH SAND
BEDDING, MINIMUM CUSHION OF 150M.M.

 EXCAVATION OF TRENCHES WILL BE MANUAL OR WITH JCB OF
WIDTH OF MINIMUM 800M.M TO 1000M.M AND DEPTH OF MINIMUM
1000M.M FROM THE TOP OF THE PIPE AS APPROVED DRAWING.
 ALL ABOVE GROUND PIPES SHALL BE BLASTED AND PAINTED AS
THE PAINTING PROCEDURE
 ALL UNDER GROUND PIPES WRAPPING SHALL BE DONE AS PER THE
PROCEDURE.
 THE EXCAVATED SOIL SHALL BE BACKFILLED AFTER REMOVING OF
HARD MATERIALS LIKE ROCKS ETC. TO AVOID THE DAMGE OF
COATING &WRAPPING OF THE PIPES.
 AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE PIPES, THE UNDERGROUND PIPING
WILL BE HYDRAULICALLY TESTED TO APRESSURE OF 1.5 TIMES
FROM WORKING PRESSURE AND HOLDING TIME MINIMUM 3HRS.
 THE COATED PIPES WILL BE LOWERED IN TO THE TRENCHES WITH
OUT GETTING DAMAGE OF COATING. IN ANY CASE TWO PARALLEL
PIPES DISTANCE SHALL BE MAITAINED 800M.M.
 ALL EQUIPMENTS WILL BE ERECTED AND COMMISSIONED
AS PER DRAWING.
