PREFACE
Training is a very necessary part or system in every organization. Training help the employees to
improve their self and increase their productivity in the organization. Training at AIT Bangkok
was very much effective it helps in adapting advanced level of technology, advance teaching and
learning exposure which fulfils the need of a student. The impact of training program is to mould
the student’s attitude and provide an umbrella of knowledge, innovation, experience and
exposure.
The main motive of being a part of training at AIT was to analyse the teaching and learning
methodology of it and then finding where the educational institute are lacking behind. For this I
conduct a research on the basis of personal experiences, gained there, self-observation of the
student of AIT itself that how they are different from Indian student. The data is also collected
through questionnaire which was filed by the student of UGI as well as the volunteers and
students of AIT.
The finding of my research study is, though the Indian educational institutes are flourishing in
our country, but no comparison with the foreign education study structure, and institute they are
There are certain suggestion for improving these educational institute which govern needs to

INTRODUCING ASIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was founded in 1959 by eight country members of the
South East Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO), originally as the SEATO Graduate School of
Thailand, but does not operate under the ambit of Thailand, and is empowered to grant its own
degrees, under the AIT Enabling Act, issued by Thailand in 1967. AIT has a unique international
character, with 70% of its 2,000 plus student population hailing from outside the host country,
from all corners of Asia and the rest of the world. In 2015, AIT was adjudged the world’s top-
ranked international university by the EU-funded U-Multi rank 2015 institutional ranking.
Today’s AIT graduates are a who’s who of success stories in both the public and private sectors
in more than half the world’s countries, including the current Premier of Taiwan. AIT has a very
strong global network of institutional partners from all over the world, and as a neutral non-
political independent international institution with a regional mandate, provides a platform for

Normalizing relations with the host country Thailand not only brought us the needed financial

AIT can afford to upgrade its campus environment to be more conductive to attracting top
faculty and students. There were three campus issues that needed to be addressed, the research

dire need of a major overhaul after 40 years of use, even before floods. In fact, the flood served

Many campus libraries have remodelled their physical facilities in order to best serve students

TELECOMMUNICATION:
By Dr. Poompat
INTRODUCTION:-
A lack of efficient telecommunications networks and the disparity between rural and
metropolitan areas in telecommunications capacity are some of the most serious impediments to
sustainable development and growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The Telecommunications (TC)
field of study aims to foster national development and enhance economic productivity by
distances by electronic means and refers to all types of voice, data and video transmission. This
is a broad term that includes a wide range of information transmitting technologies such as
telephones (wired and wireless), microwave communications, fiber optics, satellites, radio and
A complete, single telecommunications circuit consists of two stations, each equipped with a

single device called a transceiver. The medium of signal transmission can be via electrical wire

COMMUNICATION KEY SUCCESS:-
Good communication skills are key to success in life, work and relationships. Without effective
communication, a message can turn into error, misunderstanding, frustration, or even disaster by
of people. It is a process where we try as clearly and accurately as we can, to convey our
thoughts, intentions and objectives. Communication is successful only when both the sender and
important to have good communication skills. While many individuals still continue to struggle,
the inability to communicate effectively will hold them back not only in their careers, but in
51 | P a g e
COMMUNICATION SKILLS TO SUCCESS ONLINE:
Now that such a considerable amount of our daily lives is facilitated by the internet, digital
communication skills are essential to ensure messages are delivered and received correctly, and
Some forms of online communication do not allow immediate feedback, so it’s essential to
failures, on the other hand, come at no small price when customers receive poorly crafted
There aren’t many chances to improve the first impression, these five useful skills for online
communication will help you avoid unnecessary complications and improve the profitability of
your business.
1. Follow ‘netiquette’:
When people meet in person for the first time, there are certain unwritten rules of it’s customary
to behave with propriety and decorum. ‘Netiquette’ is the framework of accepted behaviours
when communicating online. In many ways, the importance of netiquette exceeds that of in-
person etiquette, because unlike fleeting acquaintances, the internet creates a permanent record
of communications which can haunt people and businesses that have been ineffective or
offensive in previous online interactions. When communicating via faceless channels, such as
email or social platforms, it’s important to remember that there is a real person on the receiving
end, although you cannot see them. This will also ensure you are using human language, rather
52 | P a g e
2. Use clear and concise language:
When writing content, it’s important to write in a style that your audience will enjoy reading.
Tone of voice: Are you writing a formal piece of copy that calls for sophisticated vocabulary, or
would your audience respond better to a more casual, conversational writing style?
Technical jargon: Too much industry ‘jargon’ could end up alienating audiences unfamiliar
with such specific terminology. Instead, use technical terms where necessary, but aim to keep
your content as accessible as possible. When using acronyms always write the full phrase out in
full the first time you use it followed by the acronym in brackets – eg search engine optimisation
(SEO). That way, readers will know exactly what you are referring to later in the text.
Break up your text: A long page of unbroken copy is likely to put many readers off. Use
subheadings, bullet points, and lists to break up your content into digestible chunks that look less
daunting on the screen. From an SEO perspective, a well-structured web page is also far easier
Online communications differ from in-person encounters because they often lack non-verbal
When communicating online with customers and prospects, it is therefore important to establish
the correct tone of a conversation from the outset. Humour can be an effective ice breaker when
used in face-to-face situations and can help build a rapport with new acquaintances, however
53 | P a g e
tread carefully when using humorous language online; avoid tones that can be easily
misinterpreted in writing, such as sarcasm or irony, so as not to inadvertently offend people and
Although corporate culture often dictates the tone of language used for business, different
communication styles may be chosen based on context. For example, you can use colloquial
terms when chatting with a long-time customer, but when it comes to resolving customer
complaints, using formal and grammatically correct speech is usually best to ensure the customer
When writing responses to your customers, be sure to thoroughly address all the issues presented

answers to enquiries because they do not take the necessary time to read, absorb, and understand
what a customer has to say. As a general rule, you should always provide answers to basic

5. Build a favourable online persona:
Businesses need to communicate well in both personal and online settings in order to build and
maintain positive sentiment within their target markets. However, online communication often
presents added difficulties because of the absence of nonverbal cues. By focusing on clear and
concise writing, as well as on conveying appreciation for your customers, you can maintain a
high level of online professionalism that will build rapport with the community and inspire

RELATION OF THE TOPIC WITH THE AREA OF BUSINESS
The service marketing mix is also known as the extended marketing mix and is an integral
part of a service blueprint design. The service marketing mix consist of 3P’s out of 7P’s of
marketing mix. Simply said, the service marketing mix assumes the service as a product
itself. However education sector also adds 3 more P’s which are required for optimum service
delivery.
The extended service marketing mix places 3 further P’s which include people, process and
physical evidence. In educational sector all these three factors are necessary for optimum
service delivery.
People-
People are one of the elements of service marketing mix. People define a service. If you
have an IT company, your software engineers define you. If you have a restaurant, your chef
and service staff defines you. If you are into banking, an employee in your branch and their
behaviour towards customers defines you. In case of service marketing, people can make or
break an organization.
71 | P a g e
Thus many companies nowadays are involved into specially getting their staff trained in
many companies have to undergo accreditation to show that their staff is better than the rest.
Process-
Service process is the way in which a service is delivered to the end customer. Lets take the
example of two very good companies – McDonalds and FedEx. Both the companies thrive on
their quick service and the reason they can do that is their confidence on their processes.
On top of it, the demand of these services is such that they have to deliver optimally without
a loss in quality. Thus the process of a service company in delivering its product is of utmost
establishing the service, the company defines exactly what should be the process of the
72 | P a g e
Physical Evidence-
The last element in the service marketing mix is a very important element. As said before,
elements are also delivered with the service. Take an example of a restaurant which has only
chairs and tables and good food, or a restaurant which has ambient lighting, nice music along
with good seating arrangement and this also serves good food. Which one will you prefer?
private hospital and a government hospital. A private hospital will have plush offices and
well dressed staff. Same cannot be said for a government hospital. Thus physical evidence
acts as a differentiator.

with Indian educational system with special reference to AKTU, I have come to the

1. The curriculum or the syllabus for students in our country in higher education
outdated in most of the cases. It is stale, dogmatic and teaches things that the
methodology adopted at AIT, I have found that AIT actually adopts technological

need to be given the option of doing multiple courses in the first year and allowed
to choose what they want after the first semester or year. The spirit of curriculum
should be projects driven not exams driven, it should be innovation driven and it
should evolve not stay stagnated. Exams need to be there to measure but they
should be complimented with incentives for innovations (say final exams should
be 50% theory and 50% practical). The student should be given an option to
switch the stream if they feel so. For all this to happen, you need to have young
and dynamic faculty sitting on the academic syllabus board, which is basically the
issue.

EXPECTATIONS FROM EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS :-
Institutes of higher education, through their curriculum, are expected to provide knowledge
and wisdom and character to the students. “Knowledge” enables them to understand what
they learn in relation to what they already know, and creates an ability to generalize from
their expressions. ”Know-how” takes them beyond merely understanding and enables them to
put their knowledge to work. “Wisdom” makes them capable of deciding their priorities.
