Should animal testing be banned?

Is there any evidence to show that experimenting on animals is the only option for making medical advances? I
say no! An estimated 100 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing Have you
ever stopped to think about how animals suffer whilst being used for scientific research and for medical
testing? In my opinion animal testing can never be right.

100 million animals used for experiments and testing is a huge number; how would you feel if your pet was
one of these 100 million? A lot of people would say that this is a small price to pay for us to have all the
benefits we get from these experiments. However, if enough money and resources were devoted to animal
free alternative solutions then testing on live animals would not be necessary. Religious tradition tells us to be
merciful to other living things in the world so why do we kill animals for makeup and hair gel?

Do you think experimenting on animals is ok, but when it comes to humans we refuse to experiment on them
because it Is against human rights. But what about animal rights, don’t you think that animals should have the
same rights as humans do? All suffering is undesirable and unnecessary, whether it be on humans or animals.
As a English philosopher (Jeremy Benthan) wrote in the (1700s ) “the question is not can they reason ? nor can
they talk ?but the question is can they suffer?” I know the answer is yes .

There are about 21 major world religions today. All the religions tells us to not harm to any other living
beings A quote from the bible states 12:10”A righteous man regarded the life of his beast,”hindu duetrine of
ahmsa teaches the principle of not doing harm to other living beings “the Buddhists from doing any harm to
animals. Are we doing what the religions tells us? No

11 million people were killed during the holocaust .everyone still remembers them and lots of people are still
suffering from the Holocaust. Isaac Bashevis Singer, Jewish author and Nobel Prize in Literature winner in
1978, wrote in his book” “In relation to [animals], all people are Nazis;” Should we allow the persecution of
animals or should we stop experimenting, testing and killing animals? Same people think that discriminating
against animals is fair just because they don’t have the ability to speak. We must learn to see these
experimenting from the animals’s perspective long enough for us to come to the realization that no being
deserves this cruel and unjust treatment. We must realize that why would I treat a living being any different
than what I would want someone to treat me.This is why we need to STOP animal testing. It is unfair. We
wouldn’t want this to happen to ourselves so why do it to animals?

Even though animal testing has been proticed since at least 500bc , this does not mean it is acceptable.“150
years ago, they would have thought you were absurd if you advocated for the end of slavery. 100 years ago,
they would have laughed at you for suggesting that women should have the right to vote. 50 years ago, they
would object to the idea of African Americans receiving equal rights under the law. 25 years ago they would
have called you a pervert if you advocated for gay rights. They laugh at us now for suggesting that animal
slavery be ended. Some day they won’t be laughing.” I believe this statement is right. It cant ever be right to kill
defenceless,helpless and innocent,and danimals
