Read the text below and answer the questions that follow.

Taking care of a cat is not easy as it seems. It is almost like taking care of
a baby. It does not only need food, but it needs special care for its health. To
ensure good health, give your cat comfort, safety, love and good food.
Pay attention to your cat’s routine and its behaviour. Watch whether
your cat’s routine changes for example, loss of appetite or interest in playing.
These are signs of sickness. Like human, cats can have fever or flu. You must
take your cat to the vet for treatment. Tell your vet about any changes in the
way it is meowing, walking, eating or acting. The vet will carry out tests on your
cat to check its heart, kidney or other organs.
You should also place your sick cat in a warm and quiet place. A cat hates
bright lights and noise. So it is better to put it in a room of its own. This will
help your cat to relax. Give soft blankets or pillows so that your cat can have a
warm place to sleep.
A cat is unable to clean itself when it is sick. As it also hates to be dirty,
you must help to clean it. You can use a piece of wet cloth to wipe its eyes,
nose and mouth. Doing all these will ensure that your cat will regain its good
health.

Wati and Shila are close friends. Their friendship goes back a long away,
from the time they set foot in kindergarten. Since then, the girls have been
inseparable, just like sisters. Now, they are both in Year 6 at SK Seri Naning.
Wati is the only child to her parents, who are both busy engineers. She is
often alone in the apartment till her parents return home, quite late in the
evening. She does not have many friends to play with, too because her parents
do not allow her to leave the apartment on her own.
Shila, on the other hand, lives in a huge bungalow with her parents, two
siblings and her extended family consisting of her paternal grandparents, and
an unmarried aunt.
Wati goes to Shila’s house every weekend because there is ample space
for them to run and play. She also loves tucking into the delicious snacks that
Shila’s grandmother makes for tea.

Read the story below and answer the questions that follow.
There once lived a hardworking old man. His neighbour was a young man
who was lazy. He liked to dream about being rich. One day, the old man threw a
feast and invited all his neighbours. While the old man was entertaining his guests,
the young manentered the old man’s room and stole his gold. When all the guests
left, the old man went to his room but was shocked to find all his gold missing.
Several days later, the young man threw a feast and invited all his
neighbours. The old man went to the feast too. When the young man saw him, he
was frightened. ‘You came!’ he said.
‘Since you are throwing a feast using my money, I wouldn’t miss it, ’ said the
old man. The guests were shocked at what they heard. ‘He must be punished for
stealing,’ said one guest. The other guests agreed but the old man had a different
suggestion. ‘I want him to return all the money he stole from me,’ he said. The
young man had spent all the money and had nothing to return to the old man.
‘ Please don’t punish me, sir. Starting tomorrow I will work so I can return
the money I stole,’ said the young man. After that, he worked hard every day until
he had earned all the money he had stolen.
When he returned the money to the old man, the old man returned half of
it to him. the young man was surprised. ‘I am very impressed with your hard work.
This is my gift to you for changing your ways.’ The young man was touched by the
old man’s kindness. After that, he worked even harder. He realised that he could
only achieve success when he worked hard.

Hi Farah,

How are you? I received your letter yesterday and was quite surprised. I
thought you were busy. By the way, there was a flood at my place two days
ago. At midnight, our neighbours woke us up from our sleep. They told us that
the water level was rising. My house is at the lowest part of the hill. A really
unlucky spot at that time!

Luckily, my neighbours offered to help. We moved all that we could to

the second floor. It was not an easy task as some furniture was heavy. The rain

During the school holidays, Ramlan went to Johor Bahru with his brother.
They took a bus from Kedah to Kuala Lumpur. From there, they took a flight to
Johor Bahru. When they reached the airport, their grandparents were there to
fetch them. Their grandfather drove them around the city before taking them
to his house.

The next morning, Ramlan and Razak followed their grandfather to the
orchard. There are many fruit trees in the orchard such as rambutan, durian,
langsat, and mangosteen trees. They enjoyed plucking the fruits. Ramlan was
most excited when he got the chance to eat the ‘king of the fruits’ to his heart’s
content. Razak did not like the fruit because of its strong smell. After lunch,
Ramlan and Razak helped their grandfather at the stall by the roadside. Many
cars passing by would stop to buy the fruits.
