1.0 Explanation on the flow to sell the product

The platform that I’ve choose to sell my product is Shopee. Shopee is one of the e-commerce
platforms which were first launch in 2015 in Singapore. Shopee serves a good platform for small
businesses to market their product through technologies. Shopee now has expanded its power to
other countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and many more. The process of
registration using shopee was easy. First, I sign up the account by inserting my phone number
and e-mail. After that, they’ll ask you for a verification code by sending it to your e-mail (for
security purposes). Follow by that, I completed my registration by inserting username and
password.

The product that I’ve decided to sell in Shopee is a branded prelove which I bought
through a supplier that supply branded used clothes from Japan and Australia. The original price
of the products is RM1 per clothes and I sell it for RM10 as it is branded clothes that people
always search for. I bought the products in bulks in return for more profit. . As for now, I already
have two customers who purchased my product which both give me profit of rm10 each. All of
this profit, it will be transferred to my Shopeewallet which I can transfer it to my bank account
whenever I want. After customer has made the payment, I just need to print out their information
and start shipping their product. Everything has already been recorded by Shopee. Thus,
customer can detect the process of their parcel shipment.

2.0 Explanation on 4Ps Information

The main factors in selling a product or service are the four marketing Ps. They're the product,
the price, place, and promotion. In the overall business context, it is referred to as the marketing
mix that is limited by internal and external influences. This marketing mix information will help
you identify your marketing choices to meet a particular consumer requirement or demand.

1. Product

First is product. PRODUCT is a good or a service marketed to suit the needs or demand
of consumers. It is important to understand the advantages provided by the product and all its
features. Furthermore it is important to identify and consider the potential buyers of the product.
To be related with the product that I’ve chooses to sell, I’m selling the branded pre-love clothes
because people who loves to wear branded clothes sometimes doesn’t want to spend much
money on it. Thus, they’ll search for quality pre-love which is cheaper than the brand new one.

Next is price. PRICE is the expense for goods that customer would pay. This includes
costs of your product production and also expenses through the handling of the product such as
supplies and rent. Businesses need to bear in mind that everybody has different budgets, so they
should find the best price for the products that customer might pay within their budgets.
Businesses also need to consider of comparing their price with competitors. Customer usually
compared price of different shop. Thus, it’s really important to do a promotion and making sure
that you’ve a loyal customer. As for the price of the product that I sell, I bought the knitwear for
RM300 per bale. Each of the knitwear cost me RM0.80 because per bale has around 400
knitwear. I sell it for RM5 to RM10 each depends on the brands and quality of the pre-love
knitwear.

Furthermore, Place is also one of the important 4Ps in marketing mix. PLACE refers to
the distribution methods or the platform you use to make the products or services readily
accessible to the expected customers. It can be exist on several different platforms, such as on
newspaper or television commercial, on physical store or even on the website. Every business
must have their distribution strategy on deciding place to market their product. As for me, I
chose to market my product through Shopee as it is the largest platform for small businesses to
market their product. This is because nowadays people choose to shop online and Shopee has
provides many benefits such as Free shipping. So sellers might benefits from that.

Lastly is a promotion. PROMOTION is strategic communications activities through ads


as well as brand awareness, mailings, email marketing and social networking sites. From
promotion, you can let your potential clients know what you are offering to them, another words,
your product variations and what you offer to them. Furthermore, for you to persuade them to
purchase your product, you need to clarify why they should purchase it. The key in marketing is
to make sure that buyer has the knowledge of what you are selling and to let them know that it
will fulfill their needs. For example, Shopee is the best platform to promote product. This is
because they has “Boost” button. It allows sellers to boost their Shopee items to promote and
improve product views, resulting in higher search rankings in Shopee than normal items.
3.0 Explanation on payment information

The payment phase concludes the purchase of a product or services by the consumer. It is the
important step in the customer journey, especially in this era of technologies. The challenge for
brands is no longer only to achieve a purchase, but to receive a payment for a product to ensure
their businesses won’t get any error in profits. According to Bob fetter(2012), The real revolution
is happening not only in our payment options, but in how payments are being made So,
businesses need to look at payments as not only what product did the customer pay with, but how
they make the payment. Consumers today have multiple payable abilities. The choice of payment
methods available for a given product may influence the product choice of the customer.
Examples, mobile payments and prepaid cards or FPX pay system might increase the marketing
performance. But there are many more forms of payment available today, and the number is
growing. Furthermore, the choice of payment methods available for customers makes Payment a
reasonable element in the marketing mix.

This day, as the technologies are becoming a part of our life, it’s really important for all
of us to learn it. As for the online platform that I’ve used which is Shopee, It does really help me
a lot regarding the payment systems. On shopee, customer can pick a type of payment that they
prefer to use. For example, they have a payment option on Cash payment at 7-eleven, credit card
installment, ATM/cash deposit, Credit/debit card and ShopeePay. This has made customer easy
to make payment as they can choose based on their preferences. The best part is, when customer
pay using ShopeePay, they can get enjoy a faster checkout. ShopeePay is the type of E-wallet.
ShopeePay is an e-wallet that allows users to store money through a top-up system. The amount
of that money will be expressed as your ShopeePay balance, minus any continuing withdrawals.
ShopeePay can also do transactions and payments offline via ShopeePay. Thus, using Shopee as
my business platform ease me as it give many benefits not only to me but also to the customers.

4.0 Experience on marketing the product

Marketing has always been about being in the right place and at the correct time to engage with
your customers. That means you have to reach them now considering their time spending on the
internet often. Thus, all businesses need to implements certain elements of digital marketing to
be a successful business owner. According to Lucy Alexander (2020), the most core component
of digital marketing is mobile marketing. Why? This is because; nowadays people usually have
their phone 24/7 with them. That means, the percentage of businesses to get customers is from
mobile marketing. For that reason, I have chosen Shopee as my consumer-based online platform.

1. Strategizing

The first thing I do before starting my business is strategizing which includes searched for the
right suppliers and the right online platforms. This includes calculating the assets followed with
the profits expectations. After that, I studied on a variety of online platforms that is suitable to
market my product. Shopee is the best platform as I sell pre-love knitwear where customer
mostly searches for it at Shopee. After that, I register my online shop at Shopee by inserting my
phone number and e-mail. They’ll ask you for a verification code by sending it to your e-mail
(for security purposes). Lastly, I completed my registration by inserting username and password.

2. Content development

Marketing my product for the first time wasn’t that easy. It requires a lot of reading on how to
achieve the best way in marketing the product. The thing that I do is strategizing the content.
This includes the pictures, the price and also some explanation about the product on the
descriptions. Shopee has made this easy for me as they have a Shopee education hub for new
sellers to learn on how to naming and categorize the product. I also do videos on my product for
customer to see it clear.

3. Engaging and product selling.

Next is engaging the product to the customers. On shopee, there’s various ways to make
customer look up to your shop. One of it is by using the “boost” button. The keyword assigned to
the product can be highlighted with this feature. If a customer searches for the same keyword in
this way, then the product will appear among the top results. As for now, I already have two
customers who purchased my product which both give me profit of rm10 each. All of this profit,
it will be transferred to my Shopeewallet which I can transfer it to my bank account whenever I
want. After customer has made the payment, I just need to print out their information and start
shipping their product. Everything has already been recorded by Shopee. Thus, customer can
detect the process of their parcel shipment.
5.0 Justifications on selecting the consumer-based online platform.

Choosing a consumer-based online platform is the most important steps before you start your
business. This is because, consumers constantly change their way of shopping. Thus, businesses
must keep up and choose the right platform along with the development of technologies in online
business. Nowadays, consumers are browsing and purchasing mostly from web platforms,
marketplaces, mobile devices and social media. Customers are searching for brands that have
outstanding experiences at both digital and physical distribution channels. Thus, I think Shopee
has fulfilled the requirement of the consumer’s preferences.

1. Low cost

The reasons I choose Shopee as my consumer-based online platform is because it is Low cost.
Shopee serves a free account sign up for seller to start their business in which it is commission
fee, and no listing charge. Thus, there is no any financial pressure for seller to adapt with.
Despite that, sellers can however option for sponsored content and buy paid ads at their own
discretion. Thus, that explains why I choose Shopee for my business.

2. Easy to reach customer

It has traces of similarities with the ebay.com model, in which buyers and sellers can directly
interact and transact. Thus, it is easy for the sellers to reach their consumers. Chat feature has
helps me to speak to the prospective buyers. The positive thing about this feature is that it
imitates the chat role of messaging apps such as Whatsapp. Thus, you don't need to give away
your private phone number. The chat feature can be easily accessed on any product page.

3. Easy to market the product

Shopee is mobile and strongly socially exocentric. Sellers can therefore conveniently upload
items for sale using their cell phone. It is also easy for me to put the description on my products
as its already serves button for description on colour, size and type of product that I want to sell.
Instagram images can also be linked to Shopee by sellers. This is especially useful for those
people who are already successful Instagram sellers.
