1.0 INTRODUCTION
We already know that Nasi Lemak has become a staple food for Malaysians regardless of
religion, race, or cultural background, Nasi Lemak is often eaten for breakfast. But the
community does not care because it can be eaten in the evening and at night as well.
Now everyone knows that McDonald's can be very creative in incorporating local
flavours with their western menu. Recently, a popular fast food franchise came up with Nasi
lemak in various portions. McDonald's has released a new menu with the hashtag
#GENGNASILEMAK which has 3 side dishes namely Nasi lemak Rendang Ayam, Nasi
Lemak GCB, and Nasi Lemak Spicy Chicken McDeluxe.
Definitely a taste according to our tastes as locals. It consists of all the classic elements
forming a great and delicious Nasi Lemak. Nowadays, in social media, all information is so
fast that it can make a product viral and trending. So with the marketing of McDonald's new
Nasi Lemak dishes are able to vary the taste not only western dishes but local flavours are
still given priority.
In short, social media has changed the business landscape a lot. this is one of the most
important aspects of digital marketing, which provides incredible benefits that help reach
millions of customers worldwide. Great marketing on social media can bring incredible
success to a business, create loyal brand supporters, and even drive leads and sales.

2.0 THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA TOWARDS THE COMPANY’S
PERFORMANCE
The first impact is that the company gets great achievements through social media. As has
been done by McDonald's companies, they get a lot of response when releasing new products
or promotions. they release their promotions through social media. to attract their customers.
Furthermore, with the help of social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and others, they
can expand and market their products quickly and easily. Indirectly customers can see what
the company produces regardless of the new menu or change the tastes of consumers. The
advantage of social media is that we can go through it whenever and wherever we are as long
as we have social media and more.
Besides, social media connects people from various places in the world. By sharing
stories and posting marketing photos or videos as well as products, friends and acquaintances
can connect even from different time zones. This means, if we strengthen a good bond it will
continue to relate to its customers just as McDonald takes care of its customers.
Finally, McDonald's is a large company, they have hundreds of branches in every
country. So by connecting them with Social media customers is the best platform to continue
to spread the product with the promotion of upcoming dishes.

3.0 BENEFITS OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA USED TOWARDS
The benefit of social media to customers is that they can find out the latest
information from the company through Instagram posts or stories. This will help and benefit
both parties. For consumers, they will not lose important information such as promotions,
contests, prizes, discounts, or even information about new product launches.

The next benefit is that users can provide feedback on the products they buy online
through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and so on. Whether the feedback
is positive or negative, both feedback is important. If there is negative feedback, companies
can improve themselves or the system in a better way but if the feedback is positive, it will
spread a positive vibe across Instagram as customers share their experiences with their
friends and followers.

Lastly, social media is ideal for doing business marketing. moreover, with social
media, users can do many things like connect with their family and friends and can also shop
online. Nowadays, consumers do not have to spend so much time in the mall to buy the goods
they want. They just need to sit at home and buy it online through social media. This will
save time for users who are busy. Indeed, social media makes things easier and more
organized.

4.0 PROVIDE RECCOMENDATIONS ON WAYS TO IMPROVE SOCIAL MEDIA
USED BY THE COMPANY

The first suggestion is to add value to the customer. if we want customers to feel loyal
to our company and keep coming back as regular customers we need to try to give them
something more value-added as an example of value-added about giving customers what they
want or are looking for. This is as easy as offering a promotion or discount as McDonald's
often does.

Besides, organize contests and promotions. organizing contests or content on social


media such as Facebook, Instagram, and so on. This method is best for interacting with users
and indirectly entertaining them at the same time. Users can spend hours in front of their
computer or mobile phone, participating and engaging with our brand. Create the photo or
video contests to get viewers and go viral, or come up with polls throughout important parts
of the previous year such as Mother’s Day, Independence Day, and Eid. This will elevate the
brand and empower consumers to create memories with their happy times.

Other than that, expand your reach with #hashtags. This method is also very helpful as
it is made by McDonald with #gengnasilemak and #kitasaturasa. this is relevant where this
#hashtag will help expand the business and marketing in the company in a more organized.
Be sure to also provide hashtags of major companies that can be, and use them quickly on
social media especially Instagram. This makes it easier for people to find content related to
products and companies.

Finally, join the online conversation. As has been said companies like attracting
prospects are very important in today’s social media marketing. We need to know where our
potential customers are hanging out on social media and start reading, listening, watching,
and commenting when we have something to add. This will not only increase brand
awareness but also give a sense of personality to the business of each company.

5.0 CONCLUSION

Many companies use social media as well as traditional forms of media to market
their products and have better connect with their customers. Through Social Media, one is
able to reach more customers and meet their specific needs better. Companies can also build
their brand image through social media. Social media is an effective tool in doing business
today and releasing innovative strategies from companies that used to be very monotonous or
unexciting.
