PARABLES
A parable is a short story that teaches a moral or spiritual lesson especially: one of the stories told
by Jesus Christ and recorded in the Bible. Certain features of which are analogous or parallel to the points
of principles one wishes to drive home. The word “parable” comes from the Greek word parabolee, para
means beside and ballo means to cast or throw. So parable, means to cast beside.
The Parables are recorded in the Sypnotic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. It uses the full
story to produce the spiritual lesson, whereas a proverb, metaphor, simile, or figure of speech centers
usually on a word, phrase or sentence. Jesus’ parables are seems to be simple and memorable stories,
often with imagery, and all convey messages.
LEARNING DERIVED
Parables helps us to understand what God wants us to do according to the will of God. Through
the parables, we are able to see the revelation of His mysteries and conceal truth. It serves as our guidance
in every situation that we might have, from giving us an example thru the story told. It gives us moral and
spiritual lessons in life that we can apply and we can share to others. And it helps us to gain knowledge
and Faith to be keen in knowing more about God.
MIRACLES
The miracles of Jesus are the supernatural deeds attributed to Jesus in Christian and Islamic texts. The
majority are faith healings, exorcisms, resurrection, control over nature and forgiveness of sins .
LEARNING DERIVED
We learned that in this trying time, the only way to salvation is to have a strong faith in God. We are
strengthening our faith to God that amidst this Covid-19 crisis we are facing today, we, as a team, are
hoping that there will be miracles. A miracle of healing, a miracle of restoration and a miracle of revival.
Miracle of healing to those people who are currently fighting for their life, to those people who are
fighting for their sanity and to those people who have lose their love ones due to this pandemic. A miracle
of restoration of physical, emotional, and mental health to everyone. Finally, a miracle for revival of
every business, livelihood as well as every country’s economy.
PASSION
Passion of Christ is correlated with the celebration of Easter. The term “Passion of Christ” refers
to the week of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. It is a reminder of the events of the week starting
with Palm Sunday. It is when Jesus reached the city of Jerusalem and resulted in His suffering. The
original meaning of the word passion came from a late latin passionem (nominative passio) “suffering,
enduring”.
LEARNING DERIVED
Passion is more than just suffering of Christ, it has come to mean intense emotion over the years,
good and poor alike. It originally means to dig a litter deeper, “a willingness to suffer for what you love”.
The Passion of Christ is the unfailing, everlasting love of the Almighty God, miraculously confined in the
human body, suffering from His own will for His beloved creation. It tells that even in the intense
suffering of Christ on the cross, He cared about the eternal life of the man beside him. Remember to
forgive, Jesus was hung on the cross after a mock trial and a punishing beating yet His first words, after
the cross had been laid to the ground were the words of forgiveness.
RESURRECTION NARATIVE
The Resurrection of Christ is at the center of our faith. Paul affirms: “If Christ has not
been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:14). The
Church devotes eight days of worship to retelling the Resurrection narratives. From Easter
Sunday to the following Sunday the readings at Masses present one by one the many New
Testament accounts of the appearances of the risen Lord.
LEARNING DERIVED
Jesus Christ’s resurrection is the par excellence of God’s revelation; to show us that there is
someone above all creatures and that is God. God never leave us, He is always with us and gave us
guidance and unchanging truth and glorified Jesus as the absolute foundation for truth and righteousness.
Repentance and forgiveness should not be whispered, muttered, or mumbled; "Repentance and
forgiveness should be proclaimed in His name to all nations, beginning with Jerusalem." (Luke 24:47)
Have faith on the unseen God, according to John’s account Thomas does not believe that about Jesus
resurrection, because he does not see him; a week later, Jesus appears and invites Thomas to touch his
hands and side and believe. We must purify ourselves for the second coming; as stated on Matthew 24:44
“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
