B. Install keyway liners on inboard wheel subassembly as follows (Ref. Figure 602):
(1) Position keyway liner (290) on inboard wheel subassembly, as shown in Figure 602.
Align rivet holes with tab extension on ends of liner against wheel keyliner slot.
NOTE: Edge of liner must be flush with edge of wheel flange. The maximum
installed gap between liner and edge of slot in wheel flange is 0.010 inch
(0,254 mm).

A. Operators asked for an oversize insert to repair damaged hub cap mounting holes.
NOTE: The standard inserts M45932--1--9L or SR192L can be replaced by the oversize
insert SRW192L in Repair R3--1.
(1) The procedure given is used to replace damaged or loose self--locking inserts in the
hub cap screw holes on Wheel Assemblies 5006028--1, --2, --3, --4 and --5.
(2) This repair R3--1 gives instructions to remove original insert M45932--1--9L or SR192L,
machine the insert hole to oversize, and install oversize self--locking insert SRW192L.
B. Operators asked for an additional oversize insert repair for a damaged hub cap mounting
hole that has already been repaired.
NOTE: A damaged oversize insert SRW192L can be replaced by an oversize Keensert
insert KNHL 1032J in Repair R3--2.
(1) The procedure given is used to replace a damaged or loose oversize insert SRW192L
in the hub cap screw holes on Wheel Assemblies 5006028--1, --2, --3, --4 and --5.
(2) This repair R3--2 gives instructions to remove the previous repair insert SRW192L,
machine the insert hole to an additional oversize, and install an oversize Keensert
insert KNHL 1032J.

DESCRIPTION: Continuing new R3--2 Repair.
(2) Install the insert 0.010 to 0.030 inch (0,25 to 0,76 mm) below surface into the hub cap
screw hole using Installation Tool THD1032L.
(3) Identify the repaired wheel subassembly as follows:
(a) Metal stamp the letter “R3--2” in 0.09 inch (2,3 mm) characters near the repaired
area and remove the displaced metal to maintain a flat surface.
(b) Metal stamp “R3--2” near the wheel subassembly number in 0.09 inch (2,3 mm)
characters.
(c) Re--treat and repaint displaced metal. Refer to the Re--Treating and Repainting
paragraphs.

DESCRIPTION: Added Repair No. 6 -- Keyway Liner Rivet Hole Repair.
B. This repair gives instructions for machining the keyway liner rivet hole(s) on the Inboard
Wheel Subassembly (230D) to oversized dimensions and for installing a new oversize rivet
MS20613--5P8 (280B).
2. Repair of Damaged Keyway Liner Rivet Hole
A. Disassemble the wheel assembly as necessary. Refer to the DISASSEMBLY section.
B. Install a wheel keyway liner (290A) over the damaged rivet hole.
C. Machine drill a 0.175 + 0.003 inch (4,45 + 0.076 mm) diameter hole through the wheel
keyway liner (290A) and the wheel drive boss. See Repair No. 6, Figure 601.
D. Remove the wheel keyway liner (290A).
E. Remove all burrs and sharp edges from the wheel keyway liner (290A) and the Inboard
wheel subassembly (230D) oversize hole(s).
F. Clean newly machined surfaces as specified in the CLEANING section.
G. Re--treat and repaint displaced metal. Refer to the Re--Treating and Repainting paragraphs.
H. Coat the oversize hole(s) in the wheel keyway liner (290A) with epoxy polyamide primer per
MIL--PRF--23377, Specification MIL--P--1757.
I. Install the wheel keyway liner (290A) using oversize rivet MS20613--5P8 (280B).
J. Identify the reworked wheel subassembly by stamping “R6--1” in 0.09 inch (2,3 mm)
characters on the wheel subassembly as noted in Repair No 6, Figure 601.
K. Re--treat and repaint displaced metal. Refer to the Re--Treating and Repainting paragraphs.
