FAQs
1.) Why doesn’t it look right? Where can I download the fonts?
Included within this template pack is a TXT file which includes links to all the fonts used in the creation of the template. After
you have installed the fonts you will need to exit MS Word and reload the document for the installed fonts to work.
Your template may include pie charts within the skills section. These are meant to give your future employer a representation
of your strongest 6-10 skills, with the more colour on show the stronger your ability in that skill. Pie charts can be customised
to reflect either technical or personal skills (or both) and could show skills you have touched upon and eager to learn more in.
• Left click on the chart to select it (make sure you select the chart and not the skill title);
• Now right click on the chart and select edit data (this will open excel);
• Change the numbers to reflect the split you want; exit excel to apply the change.

3.) How do I change the colour and size of the line charts e.g. Character Traits?
You might wish to extend your template to include additional information. To add additional pages
• Click outside the page (so you can see the cursor flashing at the top i.e. not within the text box);
• Select Insert from the menu bar in the header;
• Choose Blank Page from within the Pages section.
We recommend saving your finished document as a .PDF. This will lock in the formatting and retain the look and feel of your
finished document. This is by far the most professional and reliable document format.
Depending on your printer and printer configuration your template may display additional page borders, white boxes around
images, text boxes or other quirks. We can’t answer all questions relating to printer configuration as this is dependent on your
own setup; however, here are a few pointers
• In MS Word select Print > Page Setup > Paper > Print Options – you are given additional options that might relate to
a problem you are having. Print drawings created in Word and Print background colours and images are common areas
to investigate;
• Try saving your document as a .PDF and printing via Acrobat;
• We recommend for the best quality taking your completed files to a local printing shop and printing on quality paper
no less than 100 gsm.
The document has been designed in a traditional European A4 format; however, you might wish to change the size to
something else. To edit the page size just
Please note: any amendments to the standard A4 size used will require some additional adjustments to the elements within
the page.

9.) My template includes a photo placeholder, how do I replace it with my own (ensuring the same dimensions)?
We recommend using a good quality square headshot (it is important to use a good quality image in order to retain image
quality when saving to .PDF). To replace the placeholder do the following
10.) When saving to PDF the images appear distorted, how do I increase the resolution?
When saving a Word document as a PDF file there is compression process that can reduce the quality of images. If you
experience problems try the following
Even after unchecking the do not compress images tab Word still likes to compress images. To stop this you can also do the
following
• Navigate to File > Save As > Tools (next to the save button);
• From the dropdown select Compress Pictures;
• Make sure Delete cropped areas of pictures is ticked. Set the target output to Print (220 ppi).
11.) When saving to PDF the images appear grey, background colours change.
If you are having problems with exporting to .pdf then this is likely to be related to your print settings. To fix do the following
13.) When saving my document the text sometimes disappears – how do I get it back?
Many of our documents are built using layers, Word has a slight quirk where it can re-order these layers when the document is
saved.
• Open Page Layout > Selection Pane and inspect the order (the borders, background colours etc need to be at the
back (the bottom) and the text at the front (the top)).
• You can also try right clicking on the text box which now appears where your text was and Right Click > Send to Back.
