THE AIESEC EXPERIENCE
‘the story of youth’
Global volunteer is a cross-cultural experience for youth who
want to gain personal development and leave an impact on the world. We KejalRawal and DhruvRawal the student of Business Administration went Poland as an AIESECER’S, for global volunteer. We spent 6 week in the summer of 2019 in Lodz, Poland from 29th June 2019 to 11th august 2019 with the kids of the primary schools. Our project was based on English teaching, awareness about the English language globally and organizing the events for kids and society of Lodz people. We organized the events, regarding the learning of languages, which includes painting competition, debate, essay competition, and many more. We use to go in different schools for 3 days and make them learn English on basic level. As their 1st language is polish, they don’t use another language as their communication or in academic. Basically we worked as a teacher in Poland. We worked in a team. Our team members are from different countries like Indonesia, Turkey, Georgia, Egypt. We stayed together for 45 days and come up with an international family. The global friendship spreads with colorful hues. We are glad to meet great people and some of the close one I’ve ever made in my life. The whole experience was incredible from working with smart, curious and precious children, to cooperate with AIESECR’S that were always ready to help and included in the whole process, to spending time and become really good friends of us. We really felt like I did my part of job , in the case that means giving something back to the community , building social relationships with them and most important of them all, understanding them.
This experience made stronger and more positive then before.
It was the best opportunity for changing the life perpective to live in this world. This experience helped to become a better vision of ourselves and made us realize how we could contribute to the lives of others in our own little way. It was very beautiful to stay under one roof with different nationalities and keep believing in peace. Our perspective about the professional world was widely open when I went in the program. We had opportunities to put theoretical knowledge into practice in my workplace. Getting involved in the local community, meeting people from all around the world and trying new things was extraordinary. We went outside of comfort zone and so we can make an impact. Joining this project was our life turning point, now we are more confident, optimistic, fearless and we have different vision towards our life. Now I think we are more responsible and more of a world citizen. Reaching out to more people in spite of language barriers and having to push ourselves to do things which we never did in our life. The best memories are made when you appreciate every little moment. We became more conscious of the true importance of basic value in my life. When something you have in your daily life starts missing, each single moment that makes you feel good becomes particularly important. Volunteering taught me to see the real language of love. We became more self aware with a clear perception of our self and our capability to reinforce my skills in the right direction.
