Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners are able to:

1. Define elements of information.


2. Recognize pertinent guide questions leading to information literacy.
3. Create a log of the stages and elements of information literacy in a given
scenario.

I. INTRODUCTIONS:
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Classroom rules
 Checking of attendance
 Introduce the following by stating that at the end of the lesson, the learners shall be able to:

Define information needs; can locate, access, organize, and communicate information.
Demonstrate ethical use of information.

II. MOTIVATION:

Activity 1 : Most Influential Person


Instruct the learners to answer the phrase on a piece of paper by providing
the following details:
Who, What Where, When, Why, How
a. Write “Most Influential person in your life” on the board.
b. Call some learners to present their answers to the class.
Ask the learners the following
c. What is the purpose of these questions?
d. What is the importance of answering these questions?”

III. INSTRUCTIONS/DELIVERY:

Activity 2 Group Discussion


a. Why do you need information?
b. Where do you search for information?
c. How do you acquire and store information?
d. How will you determine the quality and accuracy of the
information that you have?
e. How will you communicate information?
IV. PRACTICE:

Activity 3: Disaster Scenario


Explain the scenario to the learners, and have them answer the matrix
below.
“According to the weather forecast, there is no typhoon. However, your
locality is experiencing heavy rainfall, while some parts in your province
/region are already flooded. There are reported incidents of landslide,
evacuation, stranded vehicles and drowning. As a student, what are you
going to do?”
