    Hi Claire

    Thanks for your e-mail last week. It was really good to hear from you!

    I’m fine, thanks. Leon and I flew back from Thailand four days ago. We visited three places on
    our trip – Sukhothai, Bangkok, and Ko Mak. We liked them all, but Ko Mak was our favorite. It
    has beautiful beaches and small hotels with great food. We ate a lot of fish and went swimming
    in the ocean every day. It wasn’t very easy to travel there (you can’t fly, you need to go by boat),
    but we loved it!

    We were in Bangkok for a special holiday called Songkran. It happens on April 13th–15th every
    year, and lots of towns and cities have a big party. The weather in Thailand is very hot in April,
    so during Songkran, people throw water at you in the street! Here’s a photo – we were all very
    wet! We really enjoyed it, but I don’t think Songkran is the best time to visit Bangkok. There
    were a lot of tourists in the city, and our hotel was pretty noisy. But we had a great trip!
