Rendering (volume rendering) is a graphic technology for expressing not only the surface of an
object but also its internal appearance.
Select Rendering Mode from the function menu and switch to any of following.
Shaded
Renders the surface of an object in a realistic 3D image.
The 3D surface varies depending on the settings, such as
opacity.
GVR
Makes the 3D surface smoother compared to the Shaded
mode.
The 3D surface varies depending on the settings, such as
opacity.
Brightest
Renders the image at the highest echo intensity that is
generated over the ray (the line of sight from the camera
position).
This renders a semi-transparent image, which is useful for
observing fetal skeletal structures.
X-ray
Renders the image at the average echo intensity that is
generated over the ray (the line of sight from the camera
position). The image becomes more transparent compared
to Brightest setting.
Lighted
Renders an image whose surface is reflective.
8-3-5 Zooming
1. Press SELECT.
2. Select the image or select any of Ref A, Ref B, or Ref C from the function menu.
3. Turn the DEPTH/ZOOM knob to the right.
→ The perpendicular section image or 3D image is zoomed.
To revert to the original, select 3D Reset from the function menu.
● Select 3D Gamma from the function menu and adjust the gamma value of the 3D
image.
● Adjust the smoothness of the 3D image.
• To smooth the 3D image
Switch the 3D Smooth on the function menu to On.
• To make the 3D image smooth and glossy
Adjust it with the Glossy Level on the function menu.
1. Display a 3D image.
2. Select 3D Loop Menu from the function menu.

Setting the rotating direction of the 3D image
From Rotation Axis, select Vertical to rotate it with respect to the X-axis or Horizontal to rotate
it with respect to the Y-axis.
Setting the rotating angle
From Step Angle, set the angle to rotate per frame.
4. Select 3D Loop from the function menu.
→ The volume data rotates. Once the rotation reaches the end of the specified range, the 3D
loops starts.
• To adjust the speed of playback, select Loop Speed from the function menu and set the
speed.
• To stop playback, select 3D Loop from the function menu again.
● Select Opacity from the function menu and adjust the opacity.
→ If looking through the skin to depict the skeleton, or if there is low-brightness noise in front
of the skin, use this function to display a satisfactory image.
● Select Progressive Clipper from the function menu and set it to Auto. Alternately,
adjust the setting with a numerical value.
This is only available if the rendering mode is Shaded or GVR.
→ An image is displayed with the obstacle eliminated.
When there is not much amniotic fluid, the fetal face is very close to the placenta or the
uterine wall, so it may not be possible to display a clear 3D image of the face. Set
Progressive Clipper to continuously change the opacity between the fetus and obstacles
in front of the fetus and to make it easier to remove obstacles from the image.
1. Display a 3D image.
2. Press SELECT and make the cross-section or 3D image with the unnecessary region
