Abstract

An advertising agency creates plans on behalf of client’s drafts and produces

advertisements, places advertisements in the media, plans advertising campaigns
and manages all aspects of a client's advertising. There are many advertising
agency in our country, CG World Ltd is one of them. Advertising agencies can
specialize in specific areas, such as interactive advertising, or they can be full-
service agencies that create advertising materials like television and radio
commercials, printed advertisements, direct mails, catalogs, sales letters and other
promotional activities. If I want to put CG World Ltd in this definition then it will
be a perfect match as it is a full-house agency which does all types of advertising.
The agency began its journey nearly thirteen years ago and in this short period of
time it has done a lot of work and established good relation with different clients.
This agency is divided into five departments- Marketing, Editing, HRM,
Copywriting and Graphics. I have worked in the CG World Ltd for three months. I
was assigned with the job of Graphics Designer. As an intern, I had the opportunity
to do different types of activities. During this period, I have used my observation
and gained experience about various functions and activities. Though I was
assigned as a copywriter, I also used to take orders of advertisements from
different companies. While working, I observed that CG World Ltd always tries to
come up with new ideas and some of those ideas are considered as trends now. In
today’s world, advertising is the most essential part of our capitalist society.
Advertisements connect people to commodities. Without advertisements we cannot
get the information of our daily commodities or other products and services. So,
advertisements do the work of passing information from manufacturers to
consumers. The aim of this paper is to overall activities of CG World Ltd. To make
it more competitive in the industry with a view to how to counter the ensuing
challenges in the industry as a consequence of changing global business nature and
technological development. For this purpose, business philosophy, methodology,
mission, objectives, activities and current strategies of CG World Ltd are analyzed
at the initial stage.

Chapter One
Introductory part

1.1. Introduction
From my childhood I always dreamt to build my career in creative arena. I got the

chance to do my internship with CG World Ltd (Computer Graphics World) which

is a leading advertising agency in Bangladesh.

While working there I have come to know about the power of advertisement in

every step of our life. Earlier I used to think that there are only television, radio,

newspaper advertisements and billboards to advertise. But through my internship I

have seen that there are various ways of advertising which are introduced by

agencies and that is leading the agencies to be the trend setter.

1.2. Objective of the Report

The primary objective of this report to comply with the practice and concept of the

CG World Ltd Ltd. But the objective behind this study is something Broader.

Objectives of the study are summarized in the following manner:

To apply theoretical knowledge in the practical field.

To make a bridge between the theories and procedures of business day-to-

day operations.

To have some practical exposures that will be helpful for my future career.

1.3. Scope of the study

An organization large or small, profit or service oriented, whether it is, the ultimate

aim is to achieve organizational goal. The achievement can only be possible

through skillful and effective management of manpower, usually after successful

completion of recruitment, selection and introduction process the new employee

must be developed to better fit the job the organization.

1.4. Methodology
Methodology refers to the systematic method consisting of enunciating the
problem, formulating a hypothesis and collecting the facts or data, analyzing the
facts and reaching certain conclusions either in the form of solutions towards the
concerned problem or in certain generalizations for some theoretical formulation.

To complete this report I have followed a systematic study which include working,
inspecting and talking to the executives at different levels of the organization to
know the present scenario of the activities. To make the report more meaningful
and acceptable two sources of data and information have been used widely at first I
arranged meeting with all the concern people regarding my project work

 Primary Data
The primary sources are as follows:

Face to face conversation with the respective officers and staffs of the

office.

I survey different department to collect my concern information and

prepare a questionnaires, which is very essential for my work.

Try to collect every possible information about their brand identity

which is related to my work.

Consulted with Accessories project related faculty to getting help.

After collect the information then I tries to give some statistically

report to grow up the lacking.

 Secondary source

The secondary sources data and information are as follows:

Annual Report of CG World Ltd.

Various books, articles, compilations etc.

Different data are collect from organization website.

1.5. Contact Method

To collect data for the report I use two types of contact method, I used personal or

face to face method.

1.6. Limitation

MY efforts enable me to make the report informative, analytical and

comprehensive. To accomplish that program I faced some problems. The prime

limitation of this study was that the respective personnel of the company are so

much busy that having an interview with them was a tough matter. Also the

personnel Interviewed are unable to provide all the information needed of their

administrative restriction.

The report is accompanied with the following limitations-

Lack of time in preparing report.

Lack of available data and resources and technological support.

As I am employee and always busy, so it is not possible for me to collect all

the necessary information.

I had to complete this report within a very short span of time that was not

sufficient for investigation.

Lack of experience.
Chapter Two
Company Overview

2.1. Background of the Organization

An advertising agency creates plans on behalf of client’s drafts and produces

advertisements, places advertisements in the media, plans advertising campaigns

and manages all aspects of a client's advertising. Advertising agencies can

specialize in specific areas, such as interactive advertising, or they can be a full-

service agencies that creates advertising materials like television and radio

commercials, printed advertisements, direct mails, catalogs, sales letters and other

promotional activities

If I want to put CG World Ltd in this definition then it will be a perfect match as it

is a full-house agency which does all types of advertising. The agency began its

journey nearly thirteen years ago and in this short period of time it has done a lot of

work and established good relation with different clients. This organization is

under the outstanding leadership of the Chairman, MD. Moinul Islam and the

Managing Director, Syed Nabil Ashraf who is constantly directing this rganization

towards the way of success and always finalizes all the works and order. This

agency is divided into four departments- Marketing, Editing, Copywriting and

Graphics. If there is any short term delivery order such as any company wants to

make gift items for their advertisement then the order is handled by the Marketing

Department. It finalizes the details of the deal where there will be a check of the

budget, quantity, size of the items and time duration. Besides, the marketing

manager personally does corrections whenever needed. However, if the project is

big like TVC (Television Commercial), RC (Radio Commercial), paper

commercials, billboards or any promotional activity or product launching then at

first the managing director makes the plan by taking ideas from the employee.

After making the final design he gives directions to the unit and keeps on checking

every step of the project. Besides, The Chairman is consulted and always reported

about the progress time to time. At the end of the project the Chairman and the

Managing Director together finalize the order with the client.

Now I explain details about CG World Ltd-

a fresh test of advertising…

4.5. Solar Sign Advertisement (Indoor and Outdoor)

Product Description Solar signs are a relatively simple concept. In a basic way,
the system operates like a bank account. Withdrawals from the battery to power the
light source must be compensated for by commensurate deposits of energy from
the solar panels. As long as the system is designed so deposits exceed withdrawals
on an average daily basis, the battery remains charged and light source is reliably
powered. The key to solar signs is the solar power pack, which houses photovoltaic
solar panels, a proprietary microprocessor control system, and batteries. This is
attached to specifically designed lights having super reflectivity and high energy
ballasts. The sun provides a direct source of energy to the solar panel. The battery
is recharged during the day by direct- current (DC) electricity produced by the
solar panel . The light source is powered by the battery each night. Electronic
controls are used between the battery, light source and solar panels to protect the
battery from overcharge and discharge, and to control the timing and operation of
the light. How does solar power work?

In principal, it's simple. A solar panel converts light to electricity. During daylight,
even on cloudy days, this "solar generator" (solar panel) charges long- life atteries,
which store the energy until needed. Thus, the energy of the sun is harnessed to
product power. In practice, of course, solar outdoor lighting is a little more
complex. In addition to large capacity batteries and solar panels, the system also
incorporates sophisticated proprietary charge regulators, which stop the flow of
solar generated electricity when the batteries are fully charged, and then resume
charging when more power is needed.

Eco-friendly – Highly visible – Cost effective

Lightweight, thin and scalable, CG World Ltd Solar Signs have the potential to
save businesses millions in electricity costs by using energy from the sun’s rays.
Our ground-breaking and energy efficient CG World Ltd Solar Signs open up the
possibility of flexible advertising in previously untapped markets where electricity
supply is limited or non-existent. Unlike signs that use solar power to light very
simple shapes made from Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), our CG World Ltd Solar
Signs can broadcast hi-definition, complex design sequences and detailed
messages; new advertising panel s can be interchanged easily to provide flexible
advertising within marketing campaigns. Daytime charging can provide between 6
and 14 hours of animation and CG World Ltd Solar Signs can be fixed almost
anywhere due to their lightweight and streamlined construction.

Benefits:

Ultra safe
Uniform ad lighting
No trenching, no transformers, no meters
No connection fees
No maintenance
No electric bills

4.7. Event Management

There are varied art forms that have been passed down through the ages. One such
form of art is that of oil paintings. These have not been just those that are made on
canvas, but also the cave paintings, and the wonderful murals. However, in over
the last century there has been an escalation in interest in the arts. There are not on
more artists, but also the demand and increasing art lovers and connoisseurs. There
are a number of companies hosting and organizing events on a regular basis. These
range from the small time private events to the large-scale international events.
Yes, the large scales one do happen far rarer, but then the amount of returns they
churn out is far. Beyond expectations. However, in the past there have been events
that have also resulted in losses to the hosts and sponsors for varied reasons. But
then, all said and done, event management is about organization and execution, and
that is precisely where the money lies. Those in the field are paid for these
services. Today, there a number of people, who have entered the field because they
realize the potential of the market where demand and supply is concerned? In fact,
the most profitable aspect of this field is the need for creativity. And that is how
and where one earns. The management of events calls, largely for coordination,
from stage one. The first thing required is to get the orders for the event. This
process is also known as pitching for an event. Usually, whether it is for small time
events (birthday parties and weddings), or then for the larger ones assigned by
companies (exhibitions and trade fairs), or then the international concerts; the
event manager/company is asked to submit a project report, with the finances
involved. On the basis of this is the assignment given to them.

4.8. Media Buying

Buying media is a specialized skill, which requires knowledge of your target

clients, consumer behavior, the media, and the criteria used to measure the value of
TV and radio programming. Station sales reps can be very persuasive in proposing
advertising packages and will offer to serve as your media advisors. A broadcast
station sales rep's advice can be very helpful, but never let a media sales rep talk
you into buying a package. Instead of relying on the sales rep, you may wish to
hire a professional media buyer at no cost to you since the station pays the media
buyer's commission. Even if you hire a media buyer, you must learn enough about
the key buying criteria to be in control and make the purchase decisions based on
the proposals. Since you are buying media only for your company, it is feasible for
you to learn enough about the key factors applicable to the tax industry to buy your
own media.

Organization & management policy
6.1. Organization

Institutional frame work of CG World Ltd starts from Chief Executive Officer. He
has two main domains, technical domain and administrative domain. Total number
of employee in office and site office are 25 (December 15, 2009).

Organization in a Chart
The organization of CG World Ltd has been presented in chart.

6.2. Contract Management:

Our Contract Management activities are grouped into three areas:
• Service Delivery Management ensures that the service is being delivered as
agreed to the required level of performance and quality.

• Relationship Management keeps the relationship between the two parties open
and constructive, aiming to resolve or ease tensions, misperceptions, and identify
problems early.

• Contract Administration handles the formal governance of the contract and

changes to the contract documentation.

Service Delivery Management

Managing Service Delivery means ensuring that what has been agreed is delivered
by maintaining appropriate quality standards. The contract defines the service
levels and terms under which a service is provided. Service level management is
about assessing and managing the performance of the service provider to ensure
value for money. As well as assessments of whether services are delivered to
agreed levels or volumes, the quality of the service must also be assessed. Quality
metrics will have to be created that allow the quality of service to be assessed, even
in areas where it is hard to quantify. A key part of assessing the service provided is
the baseline, or level from which service levels and improvements are measured.
This will need to be agreed before the service commences. Benchmarking, or
comparing performance across different organizations and providers, is another
useful way to gauge improvements or pricing levels. Managing risk is another
important aspect of Service Delivery Management. The fulfillment of the contract
may be endangered by several kinds of risk; some of that are under the provider’s
control, and some are out of control. Identifying and controlling (by avoiding or
minimizing) the risks to a contract is a vital part of Service Delivery
Management. This includes those risks that have been transferred to the provider
under the contract. Business continuity plans and contingency plans help prepare
the customer organization for the situation where the provider cannot deliver. They
are an important part of managing risk.

6.3. Managing the Relationship

Management structures for the contract need to be designed to facilitate a good
relationship, and staff involved at all levels must show their commitment to
it.Information flows and communication levels should be established at the starts
of a contract, and maintained throughout its lifecycle. There are three primary level
of communication in a contractual arrangement are: Operational (end
users/technical support staff), Business (contract manager and relationship
manager on both sides) and Strategic (senior management/board of directors).
Some procedures are set for raising issues and handling problems, so that they are
dealt with as early as possible and at the appropriate level in the organization.

6.4. Contract Administration

Contract administration, the formal governance of the contract, includes such tasks
as contract maintenance and change control, charges and cost monitoring, ordering
and payment procedures, management reporting, and so on. The importance of
contract administration to the success of the contract, and to the relationship
between customer and provider, should not be underestimated. Clear
administrative procedures ensure that all parties to the contract understand who
does what, when, and how.

6.5. Seeking Improvements

Service Delivery Management, Relationship Management and Contract
Administration should keep both contract and relationship running smoothly, and
providing the value for money represented by the contract at its outset. The
customer will almost certainly want an aim for improvement over the life of the
contract as well; ideally, the requirement for improvement will be built into the
contract.
6.6. Managing Changes
A successful arrangement requires a mutual commitment to meeting evolving
business requirements and adapting to changing circumstances. Properly managed
change can be a good opportunity to improve the service.Drivers (reasons) for
change during contracts can come from a range of sources, both internal and
external sources. Whatever the drivers, it is important to realize the implications of
change for the contract and all parties involved. There could be implications or
concerns in areas such as continuing value for money and the possibility of moving
beyond the original scope of the requirement. Areas where change might be
necessary include performance metrics, service functionality, service infrastructure
and workload.

6.7. Quality Management of CG World Ltd

Quality control:
Quality measures and metrics provide information about how well a service is
performing.

Measuring service quality means creating and using quality metrics –

measurements that allow the quality of a service to be measured. Some aspects of
service quality that could be assessed are:

Completeness
Availability
Capacity

Reliability
Flexibility
Timeliness
Responsiveness
Standards
Usability
Accuracy
Satisfaction.
It is important to set the baseline accurately in order to gauge how well the service
performs; the provider’s targets and performance will be calculated relative to the
baseline. Customer and provider must work together to set baselines at a level that
accurately reflects the service the customer is currently getting and forms a fair
basis for performance measurements.

7.5. Risks
There are some risks beyond the provider’s control. They include:
Demand for a service is much greater than expected and the provider cannot
cope.
Demand for a service is too low, meaning economies of scale are lost and
operational costs are disproportionately high.
Staff on the customer side with adequate skills is transferred or moves on
(possibly to the provider).
The customer is obliged to make demands that cannot be met, perhaps in
response to changes.

7.5. Force majeure:

Factors beyond the provider’s control disrupt delivery; for example, flood, road-
blockade, Possession of political parties (hortal), Blockade, Flood, cyclone, heavy
fog etc.

Site is not accessible by vehicle.

The suppliers’ sudden inability to deliver materials’ on time for any reason
widely common reason is unavailability of materials in the market.
Fundamental changes in the customer’s requirements, perhaps as a result
of changes in policy, make the arrangement a higher or lower priority or
change the level of demand for the service
The customer’s inability to meet their obligations under the contract.

Where risks are perceived or anticipated, customer and provider should work
together to decide who is responsible for the risk, how it can be minimized and
how it will be managed should it occur.

Conclusion

Advertisement is the process of promoting a product, an individual person or

company to the world so that people can feel the need and become convinced to
purchase and use these products or service. Before doing my internship this world
of advertisement was totally ambiguous to me. However after completing the
internship and this report I have come to know about how advertisement is
connecting people with the capitalist society. As a consequence we are constantly
being advertised and exposed with advertisement cautiously and unconsciously.

This world always welcomes the new things and if the concept of popularity is
added with these, then the new things become new trends not only in the world of
advertisement but also in every sphere of our life. There are many new products
which were never advertised before but these are now advertised. So, to meet the
demand of time the new trends are introduced to the consumer world as they love
to see things in a new way. So, the advertising agencies grab this chance to make
new ways of promoting and the new trends are appeared to promote the products in
an innovative way. And to some extent these new trends are having magical impact
to the mass people. So, to hold this impact the advertising agencies are introducing
and developing new trends of advertisement as the trend setter.
