Guidelines for Confirmation of Admission, 2020-22


Dear Candidate,
Congratulations for securing admission to your preferred programme at TISS!!!
Please find below the instructions for confirmation of your provisional admission.

Physical document verification will be done after the COVID 19 lockdown and when the
normalcy is announced by the Government.
Opening of academic session (the dates for each of the campus / centre will be notified on
the website and communicated to the candidates who have confirmed their seats by
remitting the required fees).

Note:
1. Your selection from the merit list or from the wait list is only provisional subject to
verification of online documents and confirmation of fulfillment of all eligibility criteria.
Payment of fees does not guarantee admission.
2. Failure to pay the fees as per the schedule will lead to cancellation of the provisional
admission. In such cases the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate in the wait
list, if applicable.
3. If you are found ineligible or are not able to upload necessary mandatory valid documents
as per the admission procedures, your provisional admission would stand cancelled and
fees paid, if any, would be refunded as per the UGC regulations on the matter.
4. All are advised to confirm their provisional admission by payment of fees as above well in
advance to avoid probable network congestion on the last day.

II. Steps to confirm admission


1. Verify your selection after logging into your account
2. Pay the fees applicable for the programme under respective category as per the fee
payment link
3. Upload the scanned copy of the following documents on your login
a. Transaction Confirmation / Receipt of online payment of fees
b. Admission Acceptance letter (to be downloaded from the admission website after
logging in)
All candidates are required to pay the prescribed fees for the respective categories, as
applicable to confirm their provisional admission.
III. List of documents to be produced at the time of document verification
The selected candidates must upload the following documents, wherever applicable, for
verification in original along with a set of photo copy, during the physical verification process held
in December 2020.
a. Certificates / documents to be produced by all candidates
1. Secondary and Higher School Certificate and Mark-sheet (10th and 12th standard);
2. First and Second Year of Bachelor’s: Mark-sheet for semesters I - IV
3. Third Year of Bachelor’s (for three year programme): V and VI Semester Mark-sheet, if
passed.
4. Third Year of Bachelor’s (for four year programme): V and VI Semester Mark Sheet
5. Fourth Year (for four year programme): VII and VIII Semester Bachelor’s Mark-sheet (if
passed)
6. Appearance Certificate from College: If a candidate has appeared for all the examinations
of the final year of the Bachelor’s Degree and the results are awaited, the candidate must
produce a certificate from the College/University indicating that he/she has appeared for all
the final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations, including practicals, if any. (Please note that
bona-fide certificate submitted at the time of application process is not sufficient for this
purpose).
7. Copy of Aadhar Card
8. Copy of the bank passbook / cancelled cheque leaf (for online refunds, if any)
9. If a candidate has submitted the original documents like degree, mark-sheet, etc., to a
College/University for re-evaluation or for any other purpose, a letter from the
College/University authority addressed to the Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences
indicating that the candidate’s original documents, as stated above, have been retained by
the College/University for a specific purpose need to be submitted at the time of document
verification.
10. Provisional selection will not be confirmed if the above is not produced at the time of
verification.
b. Certificate / Documents to be produced by candidates belonging to reserved categories:
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NC)/EWS/PWD/Kashmiri Migrant (KM)/Armed Forced (AF)
categories have been provisionally selected for admission under the category chosen in the online
application form. However, these candidates need to upload valid documents as specified below
in the prescribed format for confirmation of their provisional admission and produce the original
documents at the time of physical verification in December 2020.
1. Caste/Tribe Certificate in the prescribed format issued from the competent authority
2. OBC(NC) Certificate (Valid Non-Creamy layer certificate issued after 01/04/2020 or validity
till 31/12/2020.
3. Income Certificate of the preceding Financial Year i.e. 2019-20 for those admitted under
SC/ST/OBC(NC) candidates who are eligible for GOI-Post Matric Scholarship.
4. Income and Assets Certificate in the prescribed form (only for candidates provisionally
admitted under EWS category) for the preceding Financial Year i.e. 2019-20
5. Certificate of Disability (if applicable) in the prescribed format.
6. Certificate of Kashmiri Migrant (issued by a competent authority indicating the status of
Kashmiri Migrant)
7. Certificate for Armed Forces Category indicating the priority category of the candidate out
of the seven categories identified by Government of India.
c. Others
1. Compulsory Internship Completion Certificate, if applicable, in case of bachelors
programme requiring fulfilment of such criteria for completion of the programme. In case
of candidates continuing their internship programme at the time of document verification,
a certificate from Principal of the respective college may be submitted clearly stating the
last date of internship completion which need to be before the opening of the academic
session of the respective programme at the respective campus. In such cases, the
completion of internship certificate need to be submitted within one month of joining the
programme. Failure to submit the Internship completion certificate as per the conditions
above will be considered as non-fulfillment of eligibility requirements and hence liable for
cancellation of admission.
2. Resignation letter/ Relieving order/ Letter of Deputation whichever is applicable. if
employed, should be submitted at the time of physical document verification.
Note: Non-fulfilment of any of the eligibility criteria applicable to the programme to
which the candidate has been selected and /or non-uploading of any of the document
applicable as above, will lead to cancellation of provisional selection / admission without
any further notice and communication. In such cases the seat thus become vacant will be
allocated to the next eligible candidate from the Waiting List.
