In sewing a ladies skirt it uses trimmings and accessories in order to have good edge finishes and
more convenient to wear. Trimmings are edge finishes or they are materials that are attached with the
body of the garments or clothing by sewing while accessories are materials which are not attached
with the body of the garments. On the other hand, the difference between the two is that, trimmings
are used for functional purposes while accessories are used as decorative purposes.

Facing is a layer of material that is placed or sewn on the surface or front of something such as a
garment to improve its appearance, a lining at the edge specifically a garment, while interfacing is a

A- Is the starting point, square both way

A-B-Is skirt length measurement.

A-C-7” or more depends on the wearer

A-D-is ½ of the apex distance or width, square downward (sideward or hip 1 measurement)

D-E-is 3 inches along line D.

D-F- Is ½ of an inch.

D-G- is ½ of an inch, then connect point F to E and G.

C-I- is ¼ of the hip measurement

A-H- is ¼ of the waist measurement then connect

B-J-is ¼ of the hip measurement less 11/2 inches then connect I and J using the hip curve.
