Frisbee

Grade:6 Date: 12 dec. 2020

Number of students: 20 timing: 1.5 hour

General objectives Operational objectives of the lesson


 Knowing the rules of Frisbee  Enumerate Frisbee’s rules and the field’s
dimensions
 Ameliorate jumping techniques  The students have to complete the
jumping drills back and forth above the
rope “each student depending on his
height”
 Stimulate the collaboration spirit  Team work leads to success
among the students

Lesson process (teaching positions)

1. Warm up + sports knowledge (15 min)

First introduction about the Frisbee game and the rules of playing. Then mentioning the dimensions
of the Frisbee field, Ultimate Frisbee field: 35 meters wide and 110 meters long. The end zone is 16
meters deep and the playing area is 64 meters. Brick Mark is centrally located on both sides of the
field 18 meters from the end zone.

The 20 students are divided into 4 groups :

They line up on the baseline by group to warm up.


On the whistle, the first of each group has to start doing the exercises below:
- Jogging till the next baseline than go back by walking outside the basketball court (2 times).
- Knees up
- Heels up
- On one leg
- Two steps than jump high keeping the hand high

2. Explanation and demonstration of the drills(~1 hour) :


Familiarization of the disc (5 min)
the students standing in the court should still be in 4 groups classified according to their heights
where they have to go one after the another for a jog before jumping as high as possible above a
rope away from each group around 10 to 12 meters where it’s placed in a suitable height for
each group. After the first jump the student should sprint to a 10 meters ccone touching it and
returning back by a sprint too to jump another time off the rope and jog cooling down back to
his group touching the 2nd member to in order to bounce.
3-Game: (15 min)

The 2 groups play against each others.

- They have to pass the disc, and after 5 min, the group having the highest score of passing win.
- This time, they have to catch the disc doing 2 steps, than pass.

Cool down before getting back to class, and evaluate.

Materials: cones, bibs, Basketball balls

Note: taking individuals differences into consideration


When classifying the groups according to heights never let the students feel it
