QUESTIONS
A code of conduct is a collection of formal guidelines that describe how persons who work in
a specific field should behave. By trading with stolen goods, the auctioneers are breaking a
code of practice.
Any issue, difficulty, or annoyance that a member of staff has in the workplace is an example
of a grievance. They may be about other team members, leadership, working environments,
workloads. So there are no limits on what a complaint might be about. Treat all workers who
file complaints fairly. At every point of the process, maintain secrecy. When necessary, settle
any complaints. When workers file complaints with the organization or external authorities,
honor its non-retaliation policy (e.g. equal employment opportunity committee)
A code of ethics, also known as an "ethical code," includes areas such as corporate ethics, a
code of professional practice, and a code of conduct for employees. Organizations adopt
ethical guidelines that encourage participants to recognize the distinction between right and
wrong and to extend that knowledge to their decisions. In general, an ethical code means
manuals at three levels: corporate ethics codes, staff codes of conduct, and professional
practice codes.
a.A decision-making challenge between two potential moral imperatives is an ethical dilemma,
ethical paradox, or moral dilemma, neither of which is unambiguously reasonable or preferable.

function on various beliefs and values according to the norms.
7. How can a support worker’s own values and attitudes affect a person they are
supporting?

influence your career. It implies that it is important that you encourage consumers to make
choices based on their ideas and preferences rather than choices that represent what you feel
they should do.
Conduct that slips behind the ethical expectations of a specific area or breaches them. In the
rule, which may entail violations of aboriginal assault ethics. In the Code of Ethical Obligation,
the requirements for actions to be practiced by lawyers can be found; members of the judiciary
adhere to those found in the Canons of Judicial Ethics.
A conflict of interest exists where, due to a mismatch between personal (or self-serving)
interests and professional roles or obligations, an organization or agent becomes unreliable.
Such a disagreement arises where a corporation or entity has a vested interest that disputes
whether their actions, judgment, and/or decision-making can be objectives, such as cash,
status, expertise, relationships, or credibility. The group is typically asked to delete itself
anytime such a condition happens, as it is often constitutionally requested of them.
10. Find a job description for a job you would like to do, list the key selection criteria for the
job.
a. How would you keep up to date with industry trends?
b. What training would you like to attend to increase your skills?

children’s behaviors and physical presentation, noting any changers or reason for
concern. Give a brief description of the following.

Unexplained or repeated cracks of the bones.
Bruises are usually not injured by injury vs. regular childhood events in parts of the
body.
Burns in the knees, sides, or the genitals.
Mandatory reporting applies to the legal obligation by such classes of persons to disclose to
the child welfare authority a fair suspicion of physical or sexual harassment of children.
Mandatory notification is the mandatory obligation for many specialist associations to disclose
to the child welfare authority a fair suspicion of physical or sexual violence by children.
13. When employed in the community service field why is it important to follow policies and
procedures of the organisation?
They properly execute duties and have consistent customer support as staff obeys protocols.
This boosts the consistency of the goods and services of your company. And in turn, it boosts
the credibility of your company. Employees will understand that their duties are fulfilled and
take pride in their careers.
14. Who would you ask in the organisation to find out about policies and procedures?
Policies and procedures generally derive from the mission and priorities of the business,
which are normally formulated at the highest level of the enterprise in strategic management
meetings. Department managers also create department-specific strategies and practices in
certain organizations depending on the essence of the activities at hand.
15. Why do you believe it’s important to include policies and procedures in the staff
induction to the organisation?
The key aim of an induction is to merge the organization with your new employees and to
teach them the procedures, operations, community, principles, and the institution itself. In a
moment when many new hires will make a decision in the early days about whether to stay or
go, it also lets them relax into a new climate.
16. Who would you consult with if a policy needed to be changed in the organisation?
You ought to communicate with all relevant parties, including health and safety officials,

housework where the entity is very autonomous. Other caregivers may have a more intensive
function in all everyday life activities, including eating, washing, dressing, going to the
bathroom, and taking medication.
Clarification:
Definition of Analysis Work
Discuss with Manager over job obligations
Defining roles and obligations
Communicating work tasks
19. Provide an example of when a staff accepts responsibility for his/ her own actions within
his/ her work role, e.g. when he/ she has reported an incident or issue, clarified his/ her
duty of care requirements, provided/ sought feedback regarding his/ her work role and
legal obligations
Jobs are liable for minimizing or restricting the amount of damage or disability they can suffer
from their customers. This duty is known as 'care duty' and it can also feel daunting. For
instance, our obligation to one party (for instance, our employer) may clash profoundly with
our duty to our customers. It helps to note that a juggling act is a duty of responsibility.
A responsibility of treatment has several aspects:
Judicial - What does the statute mean that we are doing?
Professional/ethical - What do we expect from other workers?
Organizational - What should people think we can do with our company and its financing
body?
Community - What do our client's parents and other members of the community want us to
do?
Private - What do we do with our convictions and values?
20. Describe duty of care in relation to job role as a carer. How is a staff informed about
their duty of care? E.g. supervisor feedback, organisational policy, job description?
Your duty of care ensures you must try to do the best of your abilities with high-quality care
and state if there are any reasons why you will not be able to do so. When practitioners
operate under an obligation of care, they have to do as would be expected to do by a fair
citizen given their experience and context.
You owe a duty of care to the persons you assist, your friends, your boss, yourself, and the
public interest as a care worker. All have a treatment obligation-it is not something you should
get out of.
You must do it with their permission when behaving in the best interests of a citizen unless
you have proof that the individual is unable to make the particular decision at the moment it
needs to be made.
21. Within a work role as a carer how do you seek agreement from clients before delivering
services? What is an example of organisations policy on seeking agreement for
services?
A protocol is a plan of action or rules to be implemented, while a policy process specifies what
needs to be done to enact the policy. For starters, the following protocols may be involved in
a personnel recruiting policy:
In local and state-wide magazines, all empty paying vacancies will be advertised.
There will be details of tasks, pay level, closing date, and contact details for the ads.
Job details and information about the organization will be submitted to all interested persons.
This proposal lays out how the company expects classified material to be handled by its
personnel. It extends to both personnel and contractors and to board members, donors, and
volunteers who may have access to sensitive information and personal details, as applicable.
Procedure:
1. Check the deal on secrecy
2. Investigate the infringement
3. Approaching a prosecutor to discuss solutions
23. Give two examples of a breach of confidentiality that have occurred in a workplace and
describe how these breaches were handled?
1. The employer may take immediate action in situations where the employer believes
sensitive information has been stolen, and obtain legal counsel if needed.
2. If the work of an employee is terminated or the employee resigns, employers may
notify the employee of their confidentiality commitments at the time of the company's
departure.
24. List 2 key statutory and regulatory requirements that cover the community services
sector in aged care.
25. What is the difference between an ethical dilemma and a legal obligation?
1." Legal" and "ethical" all act as nouns and adjectives. Their roots are different-"legal" comes
from Anglo-French, while "ethical" comes from Middle English and Greek. Nevertheless, both
have a similar base in Latin.
2. Both "legal" and "ethical" are considered to be conventions and techniques for performing a
certain form of behavior and operation.
3. There is a contrast in terms of scope and implementation. To a more widespread scope,
"legal" can apply, while "ethical" applies on an individual basis.
4."Legal" has its ethical foundation, whereas "ethics" has its moral basis. In their views, they
both judge certain conduct or action either as of right or wrong.
"5. Legal" provides a more factual view, whereas, depending on the individual, "ethics" has a
personal and varied view.
Identify the legal questions involved. There are ethical questions, in a general
context, if one's decisions influence another. In the workplace, the actions of
management could influence workers, consumers, vendors, creditors, and
shareholders. These are the organization's owners.
Identify alternate paths of operation. Any dilemma offers more than just one
chance. Personal and corporate dilemmas can be overcome by careful
treatment of workplace ethics problems. The next step, by defining the
alternatives.
To settle on a course of action using ethical reasoning. To make rational
choices, ethical thinking skills are necessary.
27. Personal values, beliefs, attitudes and culture influence how everyone responds to
different situations. Discuss how you, can ensure that you respect all client’s values,
beliefs, attitudes and culture regardless of whether they differ from your own.
We also have our ideals, convictions, and behaviors as human beings that we have
established throughout our lives. Our families, friends, culture, and the experiences we've all
had all add to our understanding of who we are and how we see the world. As employees in
community care, we also deal with individuals that are disadvantaged and/or who may live a
lifestyle that is distinct or inappropriate to normal society. If we want to deliver a service that
addresses the needs of our target audiences as community service employees and makes
them feel motivated, we need to be mindful of our ideals, views, and attitudes and be willing
to follow our industry's ethical values and not force our ideas on our consumers.
28. Describe the process used in a workplace when a new policy or procedure needs to be
created and implemented. For what reasons might they need to be written/changed?
29. What human resources documents do you need to be aware of in the context of legal
and ethical responsibilities?
Be a pioneer in ethical HR
Before you hand in your written assessment, make sure that you:
1. Re-check your answers and make sure you are happy with your responses
2. Have written your Name, Student ID and Date
