    METHOD STATEMENT FOR RAILING

    1.0 PURPOSE

    The main purpose of this method statement is to demonstrade the method and

    procedure adopted in installing the factory pre-fabicated & pre-finished coat steel

    balustrade and railing at Podium & Tower BC – The Rise residence & resort project with

    all the required specifications, standards, quality assurance, proper construction

    procedures and safety & health aspects.

    2.0 MANPOWER & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Item Manpower Descriptions

    1 Construction Manager / Site Manager

    2 Engineer / Supervisor / Surveyor / Safety

    3 Skill Painters Workers

    4 General Workers

    The overall implementation & construction procedures of this method statement is under

    the sole responsibility of the Construction Manager & Site Manager.

    All safety procedures & safety measures relating to the nature of the works being carried

    out are to be implemented under the supervision of the company Safety Officers, in

    accordance with the project HSE plan.

    QA/QC Engineer is responsible inspection for the quality assurance of the related

    exterior wall finishing works as described in this method statement.

    Technical staff shall monitor and make sure that documents like this method statement &

    material requirement gain the necessary approval by client/architect.

    3.0 MATERIAL

    5.0 SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIROMENT

    Greater efficiency in the finishing department can be obtained if each employees or

    individual acquaints himself with the best shop habits. Instructors in shops should know

    good shop practices and insist that employees follow appropriate rules and regulations.

    Basic safety practices include the following:

    - Use the appropriate PPE provided and keep it in excellent condition.

    - Do the job right the safe way don’t take chances, report injuries & unsafe conditions.

    - Clean floors, walls ceiling, and spray booth periodically. Comply all safety instruction.

    6.0 CONSTRUCTION PREPARATION

    • Obtain relevant approved construction drawings & material from Architect/Client .


    • Make good completed structure in order to receive railing. All opening, holes, defect
    honeycomb, unevenness jointing, cracks on floor must be properly filled by related
    contractor before commencement of work.
    • The steel balustrade & railing shall be pre-fabricated & pre-finished at
    factory/manufactured in accordance with the approved shop drawing & material.
    • Site dimensions, structural defect shall be verified, if any discrepancies are found and
    request to follow up & rectify.
    • Coordinate with other contractor to ensure works carried by others included MEP works
    have been completed as per the agreed sequence.

    7.0 SEQUENCES OF WORKS

    1. Check setting out on layout plan for railing location as drawing.

    2. Drill hole to concrete floor/kerb and install the pre-fabricated railing by expansion bolt as
    detail drawing.

    3. Insert timber/temporary support to adjust the railing level (vertical & horizontal). Then
    fixed bu nut/welding to ensure railing no shaking.

    4. Double check then protection railing by plastic/equal material & clean up area after works.

    8.0 QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES

    1. Check material & finishing correct as drawing.


    2. Check height & curvature of railing as drawing section/elevation.
    3. Check top rail level flatness & welding evenness.
    4. Check connection detail of railing to floor & wall (if any).
    5. Check distances of the posts are equal as drawing.
