1.

0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this calculation method is to ensure the safe erection of scaffolding.

2.0 SCOPE

This calculation method will cover for "Light Duty Scaffolding" and "General Puprpose Scaffolding" for
Hanging Scaffold.

3.0 REFERENCE

3.1. Japanese Industrial Standard G3444 : 2004.


3.2. Singapore Standard CP 14 : 1996 Code of Practice for Scaffolds

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY

4.1. Scaffolding supervisor shall be responsible for providing, supervision and monitoring of all scaffolding
works activities.
He shall also be responsible to preside a "Tool Box Meeting" before start the work to discuss work
related issues.
4.2.
Safety Inspector shall be responsible for conduction and tagging of scaffold to ensure its safe to use.
He shall also be responsible to conduct safety inspection for all scaffolding works, including its
component / accessoriess.
4.3. Qualified and component scaffolding shall do all scaffolding works.

5.0 SCAFFOLDING MATERIAL

All scaffolding materials such as tubes, couplers, etc. are in compliance with Japanese Industrial Standard
(JIS) G3444 : 2004.
