According to Google Electricity is a form of energy resulting

from the existence of charge particles (such as electrons or protons),

either statically as an accumulation of charge or dynamically as a

current. The importance of electricity part of our daily life is because

we are surrounded by technology, innovation and happiness. Electricity is

the greatest technological innovations of mankind. It has now become a

part of our daily life and one cannot think of a world without

electricity. Electricity is now an important part of homes and industry.

Almost whole the devices at home, business, and industries are running

because of electricity. The primary use of electricity depends on the

place where it use and the nature of the facilities by Rallison (2016).

According to EIA (2019) They are three majors of categories of energy for

electricity generation are fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and

petroleum), nuclear energy, and renewable energy sources. The Generators

are required in planned events to address unplanned power outages at mine

sites, shipyards, production plants, and other industrial sectors. Are

commonly housed in a silently canopy or 20 feet ISO container. Have

standard engines and alternators to achieve a high level of performance.

Are integrated with control systems to make operation; all different types

of power requirements could be managed with minimum training. Have genset

controllers that are made from well-established brands that are suitavle

for all industrial applications like offshore, shipping, mining,

manufacturing, and utilities by Demetrio (2015). There are different kinds

of generators like Diesel Generator sets (100), Gas Generator sets (45)
and the last is the mobile generator sets (1) according to Caterpillar

(2019).

According to Hylos Nether 1999, The magnet is one of the major source of

energy of this portable device. Magnetism is a class of physical phenomena

that are mediated by magnetic fields. Electric currents and the magnetic

moments of elementary particles give rise to a magnetic field, which acts

on other currents and magnetic moments. The most familiar effects occur in

ferromagnetic materials, which are strong attracted by magnetic fields and

can be magnetized to become permanent magnets, producing magnetic fields

themselves. Only a few substances are ferromagnetic; the most common ones

are iron, cobalt and nickel and their alloys such as steel. Relationship

of electricity and magnetism are manifestations of a single underlying

electromagnetic force. Electromagnetism is a branch of physical science

that describes the interactions of electricity and magnetism, both as

separate phenomena and as a singular electromagnetic force. A magnetic

field is created by a moving electric current and a magnetic field can

induce movement of charges electric current. Nowadays, people live with

the use of electricity. Without Electricity, they can’t finish most of the

things or chores they do in everyday living. According to Bynes Sam

2005,People use electricity for lighting, heating, cooling and

refrigeration and for operating appliances, computers, electronics,

machinery, and public transportation systems. We use electricity virtually

every minute of every day, yet few of us understand the major uses of

electricity in our homes. Electricity travels to our house over power

lines from a big power plant somewhere far away. Your parents actually

have to pay for how much electricity is used. There is an electric meter
outside of your house that keeps track of this. The more the lights are on

or the TV is running, the higher the bill will be from the electric

company. So people started to think of what can they do to avoid using

electricity. Especially on night time, they need light to guide them in

what they do. Light is the thing that makes our sight clearer in the dark.

Light can produce from a bulb or anything with the use of electricity.

Without it, we can’t see anything at night if we’re out of electricity.

For example, in some places like in “wawa” in Rodriguez Rizal, they

experience loss of electricity or they also call it “brownout”. When it

happens in night time, they are having struggles in not having light to

help them in what they are doing. They are having struggles because of

losing electricity and light. Experiencing this kind of problem might

cause a big problem for people. Instead of doing their other chores in

night time, they can’t finish it and the number of their chores in the

morning will increase because they didn’t finish it at night. Candles and

lanterns might help us but we cannot use it longer because these things

have a short lifespan when they are in use. These can also cause fire in

our houses. According to Peter Schwan 2000.Electricity is the set of

physical phenomena associated with the presence and motion of matter that

has property of electric charge. In early days, electricity was considered

as being unrelated to “magnetism”. Indicated that both electricity and

magnetism are from a single phenomenon: electromagnetism. Various common

phenomena are related to electricity including lightning, static

electricity, electric heating, electric discharge and many others.

electricity. The researcher wants to help people who are having struggles

when they don’t have electricity in night time. The researchers believe

that if the respondents tried to use this kind of portable light, they

will not have struggle when there is no electricity in night time. The

researchers also believe that making this study can be a good way to

improve our environment. Reducing problems in our country might be a good

help for us.

Theoretical/Conceptual Framework

According to Jared G (2018) electronic generator isn’t just some

ubiquitous, utilitarian machine. Instead, generators are the lifeblood

without them, there wouldn’t have been modern-day amenities. As for the

generators it is useful appliances that supplies electrical power during a

power outage and prevent discontinuity of a daily activities or disruption

of business operations. It can also be available in different electrical

and physical configurations to be used in different applications.

According to Ma Wen Jie (2018) making a homemade generator is an easy

project that will work well for many science fairs. Simple direct current

(DC) generators have been made over a hundred years from commonly

available materials. A homemade generator can be a good base for

explaining both magnetic and electrical principles.

This study aims to light a bulb without using traditional source of

electricity. More specifically, the researchers sought to answer the

following questions:

1. What are the alternative resources in this device that will be used

2. What is applicable wattage that can be used

3. Is the light generated enough to light up a room

4. What room size can be lighten up with this device

Hypothesis

The hypothesis in this study to hereby state in the null: The oil in our

generator is not necessary in mating free – electric generator.

This study will be a significant creative to have free energy and this

will be must safe other than generator. Moreover, this research gives a

new perspective and innovations to save our money.

This study will be very beneficial to a lot of people for various reasons.

These people include:

Community in rural area- Most of rural area did not reach the electricity,

so this device can will be alternative source of light.

Community in urban are- Sometimes in our area did interrupt the source of

electricity so that this device can be alternative source of light.

Future researchers- It will help them to have an idea on how it works the

self made device generator.

This study focuses on Self – made device as an alternative to Commercial

Generator in electricity. The Self – made device as an alternative to

commercial generator is made of alternative resources such as 2.5 mL

capacitor, copper, wires, positive wires, and magnets, speaker magnets,

the energy saving electric generator can be tested into 3 categories the

design, efficiency, and durability by lighting a 20 watts spiral bulb. The

evaluators of this product are those who live in rural area, financially

unprivileged and for emergency.

The terminologies below are defined according to how they are used in the

study.

Self-made device – we originally made a handy, comfortable and power

saving generator with a best engineering design

Alternative generator – we made an alternative to commercial generator,

using the alternative resources that can light up a bulb

Commercial generator – the commercial generator that we use and what we

see is alarming to our environment because it is using a gasoline that

affects our ozone layer.

Design – the design of our generator is simple, but it is comfortable and

handy it is not use to much space.

Efficiently – the generator we build is completely free it is made from

the alternative resources that can produce light.

Durability – our generator is placed inside the safety box that can

prevent short circuit it can light up 6-10 hours straight.
