    CONCLUSION

    Engagement in a professional development activity such as the school-based LAC imparted a


    positive outcome on the teaching practices that will consequently promotes student's learning and holistic
    development. Moreover, the LAC sessions serve as a platform for teachers to address urgent issues or
    concerns affecting the teaching-learning process amidst the adversities brought by the current global
    health crisis.

    The delivery of quality education under the “new normal” is challenging. Therefore, necessary
    adjustments or modification must be done so that learning is not compromised. The teachers unpacked
    and combined the MELCS ensuring that the curriculum standards are achieved and maintained. Various
    online platforms and LR portals are also introduced.

    Throughout the sessions, the teachers are able to engage in collaborative planning on what
    instructional strategies must be implemented ensuring that it is appropriate for the learning delivery
    modality adopted by the school. We have learned that deliberate measures must be taken to improve
    student learning outcomes. Furthermore, interventions must be given to those students who are
    experiencing difficulties in learning the lessons to prevent them from lagging further behind the rest of
    the learner population.

    The course also emphasizes that the quality of learning is greatly influenced by the quality of
    teaching. Thus, it is imperative for teachers as the main movers of education to commit to lifelong
    learning. A more systematic teaching environment contextualized to the diverse needs of students will be
    attained by keeping up-to-date with the trends and reinforcing existing skills with new strategies.

    The identified domains in the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) aided in the
    enhancement of the teaching practices employed. Overall, the LDM2 course promotes professional
    development among teachers enabling them to improve their content knowledge, pedagogical skills,
    assessment strategies and professional ethics.
