INDRODUCTION
Recently there is a influence of digital technology on SME’s improvement. To create the
competitive advantage each of every organization has to utilize all the resources effectively. To
meet this goal digital technology can be effectively managed in workplace in terms of reduce the
cost, improve the productivity increasing the efficiency, quick and simplification of tasks, and
more.
This project is prepared for the purpose of identifying the existing digital technology in JACK
LANKA PVT LTD and how it is impacting the overall performance of the business. The
completion of this research will provide the information to the interested party (stakeholders)
JACK LANKA PVT LTD to identify the deviation between the maximum possible ways to
improve the business using the digital technology and the current position of the firm where it is.

The JACK LANKA PVT (LTD) a medium level manufacturing and distributing organization
situate Kinniya they manufacturing and distributing FMCG in all wholesalers and retailor shop to
the island gaining the skills and business research gaining the knowledge in the selected topic
delivering a professional research paper within a limited time is a challenging task to complete
these task successfully the learner has established a project plan
The main objective prepared for the purpose of identifying the existing digital technology JACK
LANKA PVT LTD manufacturer distributer and how it is impacting the overall performance of the
business
This project has been planned to complete within 40 days. And the activity has been break
down into 6 phases. In the first phase the learner gather relevant information about the project
management plan on how the project management plan are made, which type of standard
templates can be used and the background of the selected organization.
The project management plan includes the objective, estimated cost, time frame,
communication plan, relevant documents, resources and quality. This project management plan
will be used as a guide to the whole project. And this will also play a controlling role to identify
whether the project is in correct path or any controlling strategies to be taken

project management plan. The project management plan includes the objective, estimated cost,
time frame, communication plan, relevant documents, resources and quality. This project
management plan will be used as a guide to the whole project. And this will also play a

taken. Once the project management plan has been established, it will be submitted to the
assessor for the review and approval. If any suggestions made by the assessor, it will be
changed in the project management plan and it will be started for the execution.

In phase four, the small scale research will be carried out. To complete this task the learner will
have to go the industry. Once the appointment has been got, the learner will use the interview
method to gather relevant data from JACK LANKA PVT LTD.
The interviewee will be the founder and the key staffs of the JACK LANKA PVT LTD. And the
interview notes will be recorded. All the activities will also be noted in the logbook for the weekly
basis review. According to the logbook review if any deviation found between the project
management plan and the activity, the necessary action will be taken to recover the correct
path.
The collection of data will be analyzed to fulfill the objectives of identifying the existing digital

technology the currently using digital technology if they want to increase employee’s

LANKA PVT LTD. For the data collection 12 top level, middle level, and low level employees
has been interviewed. The interview mainly focused on the areas such as what is the digital
technologies existing in JACK LANKA PVT LTD; employees’ adopt new digital technologies,
and how digital technology helps them to enhance their performance
Out of 12 employees 4 top level employees are more interested adopt digital technologies. 3
Middle level employees are adopt Sales representatives, store keeper have more interest on
new technologies.
According to one of the sales representative statement, because of the job pressure they feel
that new technologies can reduce their workload such as check prices by sing tablet PC, check
order status whether the ordered goods are delivered to the client or not. And storekeeper all

In conclusion, the JACK LANKA PVT LTD has not fully adopted digital technologies to the
industry standards since it has the capacity to implement. Only a very few digital technologies
has been implemented such as inventory management software’s, and office administrative
system, all price system, tablet pc s to check the delivery status

Currently they are using one system but in garment there are more than 100 employees are
working so each and every one put their finger print on one system so It causes more time and
rest part employees are effecting on that if an employee comes on time to garment but he
stands as 98th person so can’t place his finger price when he arrives so they have to expand
finger print system.
After implementation of fingerprint system end of the month they manually calculate an
employees’ leave half days based on that an employees’ salary is put their account and it so
hard and calculate each and every employees details and they fail to do the salary calculation
so they have to implement an automated software to put employees’ salary at the end of the
month.
Currently they don’t have intercom system if top level employees’ meet someone first they call
office boy then they communicate with other people so it is waste of time more even it effects
production if they implement intercom system among the employees it so easy because pass
the message in single phone.
