1.2 Installation

1.3 Use
1.3.1 Downloading PSD date to CM411, ECO Fast, ET200s, G110, MM410, MM420,
MM430, MM436, MM440.
Select Download PSD to a drive...from the Tools menu or click Download in the main
application. Click the Download button in the download window and then select drive
type, MLFB and the appropriate power stack data version in the list at the bottom of the
drive identification window.
1.3.2 Uploading
Select Upload PSD from a drive... from the Tools menu. At the end of the upload you
will be prompted to save the uploaded data as a text file to the folder of your choice.
Select Options... from the Tools menu or click Options in the main application. Set the
options manually or click Auto Detect. Click OK to save the chosen settings. These will
be remembered for the next time that you run the application.
The following upgrade process only applies to the following products. For Sinamics
G120 please see section 1.4.1
Products - CM411, ECO Fast, ET200s, G110, MM410, MM420, MM430, MM436,
MM440.
Data for the products listed above are located in the Directory - C:\Program
Files\Siemens\psdtool\data\psd . To upgrade the data simply delete the directory /psd.
Download the latest PSD zip file from the CS website. Extract, then copy the extracted
directory ‘/psd’ to ‘C:\Program Files\Siemens\psdtool\data’

Due to the firmware configuration of the G120 range of products the Data writing process
can take several minutes to complete when using the above mentioned method.
The time taken to write the PSD will be greatly reduced if the Data is written using the
MMC (Micro Memory Card) This can be done quite simply by following the procedure
setout below–
To complete the acceptance test the procedure shown below should be followed –
a) P3 – set to 3
b) P10 – set to 30
c) P9761 – 12345 (12345 - the default ‘Safety Password’ If changed then use new
password)
d) P7844 – set to 0
