Ship loose spools Packing details:

Ship loose spools packing, and dispatch shall be in line with the details provided in Project execution
plan whereas below mentioned is an advisory for the process.

Prerequisites:

1. All the ship loose spools (Infill spools, expansion loops cut spools, spools cut for module
transportation) shall be hydrotested as part of PAR modules and cut/separated after successful
hydrotest for transportation purpose.
2. All double hook up infill spools shall be 100mm (+/- 15mm) extra length as site allowance.
3. One side of the infill spool shall be bevel prepared and the other side shall be square cut.
4. Touch up paint shall be completed in all aspect.
5. Spool tag shall be hanged (with proper binding wire) on all the ship loose spools which clearly
mentions -Line number/Spool number/Isometric sheet numbers.
6. Spool details/isometric details shall be written on each pipe using black permanent marker
nearby to interface joint.
7. All preservations/QC inspections shall be completed, and documents are available.
8. Plastic/Plywood end caps to be provided on spool ends and fixed with duct tape to avoid foreign
material/dust/water ingress.
9. All ship loose items shall be inspected and verified prior to dispatch.

Packing infill spools:

1. Infill spools belongs to individual PAR module shall be preserved, stored, and identified
separately for loading.
2. Wooden separators shall be used in between to avoid touch/scratch on spools if pallets/boxes
used for small size spools.
3. Make sure the end caps/protections are in place prior to load the spools.
4. If pallets used for small pipes, Tie the spools on pallet with lashing belts and packing list shall be
fixed on the package.
5. Cover the pallet/package with Plastic sheets/Tarpaulins to preserve the spools until dispatch.

Packing Expansion loops:

1. After successful hydrotests expansion loops and straight/vertical pipes which are identified as
ship loose shall be cut as specified in the isometrics.
2. Pipe end shall be beveled and plastic/plywood end caps to be fixed after internal cleanliness
inspection.
3. All touch up painting to be completed along with inspections and spool tag to be hanged on the
spools and verified.
4. Expansion loops and other ship loose spools for transportation purpose shall be stored
separately and identified properly for loading.
5. Make sure the elbows are horizontal/downwards while stacking if possible.
6. All pipes shall be covered with plastic/tarpaulins to protect it from dust/water ingress until
dispatch.
Packing of Ship loose pipe supports:

1. Ship loose pipe supports shall be fully painted and identifications/details shall be hard punched
on individual item which shall be readable.
2. Support code/type details shall be written on bottom of each support using black permanent
marker.
3. Individual type of support can be packed together on wooden pallets/boxes and care to be
taken to avoid chances for paint damage.
4. Laminated Packing list with quantity details to be fixed on individual pallet/boxes for proper
identification.
5. Fasteners and Loose suppled U clamps to be packed separately with separate packing list.

Insulation and Steam tracing:

1. All steam tracing and insulation materials for cut sections (expansion loops, infill spools etc.)
shall be measured and packed separately for dispatch accounting 10% extra quantity for site
adjustments.
2. Insulation materials (rock wool, cladding sheets, binding wires) shall be packed separately from
steam tracing materials (tubes, fittings etc.) and quantity/area of use shall be specified
separately on individual packages.

PAR Ship Loose structures & Fasteners:

1. Ship loose structures shall be packed properly for safe transportation and packing list shall be
available on individual package.
2. Lash the materials properly if wooden pallets are used and proper separators shall be used to
avoid any paint damage.
3. Bolts/Nuts/Washers shall be Inspected/counted and separate package shall be made for
dispatch.
