1) To calibrate a testing machine, a calibration device is placed in the machine instead of a specimen and load is applied. 2) The machine's readings and the device's readings are recorded at increasing loads and used to calculate percentage errors. 3) A calibration test of a compression machine showed percentage errors mostly within +/- 2% except at 20 tons, with a maximum error of -6.1%

maximum load of the testing machine.
3. The readings of the testing machine (P machine) and the
reading of the calibration device (Δ actual) are recorded
periodically.

1) Draw the calibration curve


2) Find intervals of errors more than +/-2%
3) If a 15x15x15 cm concrete cube was tested and the failure load
was given by the machine was 26 ton – calculate the true
compressive strength of this cube.
