There were the children of emperor Dharmashoka in India. Arahant Mahinda thero established

Bhikku sasana in Sri Lanka. Sanghamiththa therani established the bhikkuni sasana in Sri

Lanka. She bought the right sapling of Jaya sri maha bodhi to Sri Lanka,

(ii) Describe about the Sri Lankan society after arrival of Arahant Mahinda thero and

Sanghamiththa therani.

Describe about the buddhist people and how they followed the Dhamma, bhikku, bhikkuni

Organization, arts and crafts, buddhist literature.

 First noble truth

is to know that Dukkha exist in life. It may come to a person in many ways, may be

sickness,old age by birth , life being unpleasant by living with the wrong person and

also being separated from him or her, which cause mental and physical suffering.

 Second noble truth

Understanding that there is a cause for dukkha. Dukkha results basically due to carving or

Selfish behaviour, desire, attainment, affection, love etc. The equivalent meaning of

craving (Kama thanha) sensual craving is ignorance (Avijja). There are three types of

craving.

(a) Kama thanha

(b) Bhava thanha

(c) Vibhava thanha
