Example - Square Footing Investigation

The document summarizes the analysis of square footings for two problems. For problem 1, the footing is 2.8m x 2.8m with 12 bars of 20mm diameter reinforcing. Punching and beam shear checks show the design is safe. For problem 2, the 2.6m x 2.6m footing with 10 bars of 20mm diameter reinforcing also passes punching and beam shear checks.

Punching Shear and the Beam shear. Using 2001 NSCP, Assume 𝑓′𝑦 =
