AIM OF DEVELOPMENT
2 DESIGN CONCEPT

To improve competitive advantage over the D6R, the


new D65EX/PX/WX-15 has been designed based on
features from the D85EX/PX-15 and other larger
bulldozers. The following functions have been
incorporated.

D65EX/PX/WX-15 uses a newly designed power to accurately control transmission and steering
train electronic control system. The controller system for optimized machine operation. The ease

Controller monitors engine speed, travel gear, and
travel speed. When load is applied and machine
travel speed is reduced, the controller automatically
shifts down to optimum gear speed to provide high
fuel efficiency. This function provides comfortable
operation without manual downshift and high
productivity. (This function can be cancelled with
auto-shift down switch.)

★ "Skip-shift" Function

Skip-shift function reduces time lag when quickly shifting sequentially. For example, when shifting from F1 to
F3, this function eliminates the engagement of F2. If operator quickly changes gear from F1 to F2 to F3, the
controller immediately shifts from F1 to F3.

When operator quickly presses shift-up button two times while traveling in F1 gear, F2 gear is skipped and
machine travels in F3 gear.

The D65EX/PX/WX-15 Hydraulic Steering System (Clutch/Brake)
(HSS) distributes power to both tracks without
power interruption on the inside track. When the
machine turns the outside track moves faster and
the inside slower, for smooth, powerful turns. The
left and right tracks can be counter-rotated for
minimum turning radius providing excellent
maneuverability.

Dozing Operation While Turning


Power is transmitted to both tracks while turning, so dozing
operations while turning can be carried out efficiently at the same FZDM0992
speed as straight dozing.

Grading Operations
No power interruption occurs when turning, enabling the machine
to easily travel through, escape from, or turn in soft ground

In addition, the tracks do not lock when steering, so that the ground
is not damaged and grading efficiency is greatly improved.

Side-Cutting Operations
It is easy to control the machine, even with a load on one side of
the blade. This enables the operator to perform side operations FZDM0994

The clutch is not disengaged when steering on slopes, eliminating
