Eating disorders entail a range of several psychological conditions that lead to the
development of unhealthy eating habits. Such habits may include: Eating too fast, Skipping
meals, Overeating, Eating when not hungry, and not following a proper eating schedule. Healthy
eating is a key to good health and well-being and helps maintain a healthy weight. Eating
disorders may start as a food obsession leading to weight gain. If left untreated, eating disorders
may result in serious health problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and high
blood cholesterol. Anorexia nervosa is a type of eating disorder that develops during childhood
and adolescence where individuals avoid eating certain food types to avoid being overweight. In
bulimia nervosa, individuals consume a relatively huge amount of food and maybe overweight.
Researchers have strived to identify the causes of eating disorders. Factors such as genetics,
environment, and lifestyles have been linked to unhealthy eating habits. This paper will
determine how media influence eating disorders among children and adolescents.

disorders among children and adolescents. Media promotes a sense of physical beauty by using
slim and well-shaped vixens in their shows. Adolescents who watch such shows feel dissatisfied
