What is It

Let us discuss thoroughly on how to write a reaction about the

story read.

What is reaction writing?

Reaction can be about one point or many points in

the text. It requires you to produce your own
thoughts towards the story. Any reaction, emotion,
thought you had about the story.

What are the things to consider in

writing a reaction?
Think about the following questions:
 What is the story all about?
 What can you say about the characters?
 Did you like the story? Why or why not?
 How do you feel about the story?
 What have you learned from the story?
Remember the mechanics in writing a reaction:
 Correct capitalization.
 Observe indention and punctuation.

Let us study the example below.

Buddy and the Cat

Little Buddy Cockroach is a house bug. Mother Bug always tells
him to stay in dark places and hide. He listens to her with half an ear
not really believing in what she says. “How could they not like me? I
have beautiful, shiny wings, and long antenna. Surely, they would
love me,” he thought. Then, Buddy saw a black cat and said, “I will
show mother cockroach that she is wrong.” But when the cat saw
him, it immediately jumped and started running after him with its
sharp claws. Buddy ran as fast as he could to the dark place under
the cabinet and never ever came out.

cat is coming.

all but when the sun was hot, he played his violin and sang and
danced all day.
An ant lived near the grasshopper. She was very different from
her neighbor. Did she like music and singing and dancing? No, she did
not.
The ant worked hard. She worked from morning until night.
She picked up food and carried it to her house in the anthill.
The grasshopper laughed at her. “You’ve been working hard
for days and days. Why don’t you sing and dance like me?” he said.
“The sun is hot. The sky is blue. It’s summer. Don’t work so hard.”
But the ant said, “After summer comes autumn, and after
autumn comes winter. I must work. You must work.” The grasshopper
did not listen to the ant. He laughed and started to sing and play and
dance again.
The hot summer passed slowly and then it was autumn. The
weather was a little colder but the grasshopper still played his violin
