Activity #1: How much do I know my Developmental Stage?

1. Which parts did you check the most? What do they tell you about your current stage?

The stage that I checked the most is middle adolescence stage. It tells me that, first, this stage undergoes
physical changes, because of puberty. Second, many of us teens become interested in romantic and sexual
relationships. Lastly, teens have more arguments with their parents as they struggle for independence for
example spending more time with their friends than their family.

2. How do you feel about the things that you have checked about yourself? Are you comfortable having
undergone those changes? Why?

I feel more aware and more self-consciousness about it. I am calm with it because changes in life help us move
forward and become better with the help of this experiences. We continue to grow physically, cognitively, and
emotionally, changing from a child into an adult. The body grows rapidly in size, and the sexual and
reproductive organs become fully functional. At the same time, as adolescents develop more advanced
patterns of reasoning and a stronger sense of self, they seek to forge their own identities, developing
important attachments with people other than their parents.

3. Are there things about you that you find confusing and you want to find more answers? Briefly
describe these conclusions.

I notice that middle adolescent pondering the meaning of life during this stage. I am still working to balance
having high expectations and I continue to adjust to my changing body and often worry about being normal. I
still confuse about what is happening as I questioned myself if am I really fitted in. However, I realize that I am
still growing to become a mature one.

4. Which of the listed characteristics do you find difficult to deal with and have struggled in managing?

As we become more independent, young people want to try out new things, but often recognize that they
have little experience to fall back on when things get difficult. I struggle in making decisions on my own. Fear
of making the wrong decision and suffering consequences. Worry about making a mistake and feeling guilty,
remiss, exposed, or ignorant is common.
