I. Learning Competency:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to enumerate
healthful habits to protect the sense organs. S3LT-IIa-b-2

CSE Integration:
Demonstrate proper hygiene S1A.

A. MOTIVATION:

Note to the Teacher:


You may include in your preliminary activity the health
inspection to the learners.
Say: Let’s play a game. Are you familiar with the guessing game?

Task 1: “Guessing Game”


Directions:
1. The class will be divided into groups.
2. Each group will be given an envelope containing pictures and
scotch tape for them to post their answers on the board.
3. Let the students group the pictures according to Proper Hygiene
and Poor Hygiene.
4. Three points will be given for every correct answers.

5. The group that could get the highest score will be declared the
winner.

Expected output:
Proper Hygiene Poor Hygiene

Note to the Teacher:


On the guessing game activity, integration of CSE on the
demonstration of proper hygiene will be emphasized.

Ask: Why should we follow proper hygiene?


B. Activity

Task 1: “PICTURE STUDY”

Directions:

1. Each group will be given set of materials which includes the


manila paper, marker and an assigned picture.
2. Study the picture and answer the questions that follow.

Questions:

1. What is the picture all about?


2. What sense organ was emphasized in the assigned
picture?
3. How will you demonstrate proper hygiene in your ears?
In your nose? In your tongue? In your skin? In your
eyes?

C. Note to the Teacher:


Analysis: For integration purposes, elicit answers from the

Say: Each part of the human body is important. If one


part of the body doesn’t work because of its condition,
the entire body as well as all its activities is affected. In
other words, it is imperative for every person to take
good care and protect the different parts of the body.

D. Abstraction
Say: As young as you are, it is very important to learn how to
keep your sense organs clean to protect them from any
diseases. Keeping your body clean and protected is your
responsibility.

Do: Show the following facts through a PowerPoint Presentation.

Healthful Habits to Protect the Sense Organs.


As human beings, we sense the world around us and interact
with it using our sense organs. All communications can
happen only with the help of our sense organs.
Without healthy organs, it is difficult to even survive and lead
a normal life.
Aside from eating healthy food to maintain good health, the
following healthful habits can help in protecting and keeping
our sense organs clean.

Ear
a. To clean the wax from your ears, be very careful
with the pressure you apply as the delicate parts
in the ear may get hurt.
b. Do not use sharp objects to clean your ears
because it is dangerous.

Eye
a. Protect them from harsh climates and injuries. 4
b. Ensure that you clean your eyes on a regular basis.
Nose

a. Clean your nose on a regular basis.
E. Application. (Group Activity)

Task 3: “Paint Me a Picture”


Directions:
1. Each group will be provided a picture of sense organ.
2. Each group will portray a situation, one after the other,
where they can demonstrate healthful habits to protect
the assigned sense organ.
3. When the teacher says “freeze”, the group portraying
the situation will not move until the reporter finished
his or her explanation.
4. The reporter will explain how the group demonstrated
the healthful habits to protect the assigned sense
organ.
Ask: Does each group clearly demonstrate healthful habits
to protect the assigned sense organ? How?
