1. ‘External Turret Mooring System Design and Analysis’ for a FPSO stationed at ‘Rosemary Field’ (Block
SK318), offshore Sarawak, east Malaysia, in ANSYS Aqwa.
2. ‘Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) Static Analysis’ with an external turret moored FPSO stationed at
‘Marjoram Field’ (Block SK318), offshore Sabah, east Malaysia, in ANSYS Aqwa.
3. Offshore petroleum well stream ‘Flow Assurance Study’ in offshore subsea flow lines at block PM304
(CENDOR) – Phase 2 Development Project.
4. ‘Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Simulation of Well Streams flow through Subsea Production Flow
Line in Deep Waters’ for a section of subsea pipeline in ANSYS Fluent.
Standards/Codes Referred: API RP 2P; DNV-OS-E301; API RP 1111; API RP 2RD; API 5L; DNV-OS-
F201.
Master Project Title: Subsea Wellhead Reliability Analysis in Offshore Drilling Operations in Deep Waters.
Project Description: Subsea Wellhead Reliability is of major concern in the offshore oil and gas industry
because of their failures during the exploration and development drilling operations in deep waters.
Numerous wellhead failures are identified as fatigue related failures of the structural members near to the
seabed especially at their ‘Hotspots’. Standardized de-coupled methodology was adopted to find the effects
of transferred environmental forces and moments effects from the connected drilling riser to the wellhead
system by applying both numerical method of solution and idealized mathematical models to estimate the
fatigue reliability of a typical deep water subsea wellhead system.
Offshore Field Details: ‘Kikeh’ field, a deep water field offshore Sabah in South China Sea, East Malaysia.
Standards/Codes Referred: DNVGL RP 0142; DNV RP C203; DNV RP C205; API RP 2A (WSD); API
SPEC 10A; ISO 13624.
Software Tools Utilized: Orcina Orcaflex (For global analysis of drilling riser).
