Job process --Maintenance of AB drives.

Step Description

1. Ensure that RC fan motor is not running.

2. Put ‘OFF’ the required MCCB in the panel.

3. Check AC voltage at Drive (Ref. Fig # TB – 1)

4. Open Front cover of the drive by loosening screw at bottom (Ref. Fig # 6)

5. Discharge DC bus by hand lump at TB – I in DC (+) and (-) (Minimum – 2 min.)

(Ref. Fig # 1)
6. Apply hand Blower to remove bust in drive cubicle.

7. Wear Electrostatic wrist band.

8. Remove HIM from main control board.

9. Remove main control board Gate driver board as shown in Fig – 1

10. Check diode module keeping multimeter in diode mode (Ref. Fig # 2) or Check in TB 1 by following was: -
Red Black Value (ohm) Value (ohm)
Multimeter Multimeter Forward Reverse
L1 DC(+) 0.5 Infinit
L2 DC(+) 0.5 Infinit
L3 DC(+) 0.5 Infinit
L1 DC(-) 0.5 Infinit

Check IGBT module keeping multimeter in diode mode. (Ref. Fig # 3)

11. Check pre-changing module keeping multimeter in diode mode. (Ref. Fig # 4)

12. Check DC links capacitor by analog multimeter in resistance mode. Put red terminal at DC (+) and black at DC (-). Initially in discharge
capacitor it will show minimum resistance and gradually resistance value will increase, then capacitor is O.K.
