Learning Task 1: Define the following speech acts by selecting the words from the

Locutionary - occurs when the speaker performs an utterance which has a meaning in the
traditional sense.

Illocutionary – performance the of the act of saying something with a specific intention.

Perlocutionary- happens when what the speaker says has an effect on the listener.

Learning Task 2: Identify the speech act presented in the following situation below. Write your
answers on your notebook/paper.
