Definition:
In mathematics, a geometric progression, also known as a geometric sequence, is a sequence of
numbers. After the first term, each term is found by multiplying the previous one by a fixed, non-
one number called the common ratio.
Situation:
Archie and Althea is experimenting with the physics of a bouncing ball. Archie drops the ball.
The ball’s first bounce’s height is 12 feet, the next time it bounces, its highest bounce is 6 feet.
Find the remaining height of its bounce until its 6th bounce.

First we need to find the common ratio by using the formula r =

Now that we that we found our common ration, we can now find the remaining height of its
